A small town on the edge of the Seine-et-Marne region, Egreville's heyday dates back to the 12th century, with the construction of its castle - rebuilt in the 16th century - and then its church. In addition to its superb 15th-century market hall, 13th-14th-century church, La Recette barn and Bourdelle museum, you can also meet the Trousseurs de Gâtinaises brotherhood at the Foire à la volaille (poultry fair), held every year in mid-December. Geese, ducks, guinea fowl, pigeons and capons, not forgetting the Gâtinaise hen, are all present! Finally, the Douve Blanche music and gastronomy festival is held every July at the château.
