The history of the Salamander distillery begins as often with a passion, an original who decides not to do like everyone. While the Gatinel family lives in the 1960 s of agriculture and cows, Raymond, caught by the distillation to which he saw, bought a small still on chassis and left it, offering his services as "travelling evaporators". In 1970, Raymond distilling its first production as a professional. The Salamandre distillery is one of the few in the Dordogne to distil to the old.
