Crossed by the small river Semoigne, Verneuil is a charming wine-producing village in the Marne valley which extends over nearly 1,500 hectares. Along its banks, you will be able to admire several old water mills which testify to the past of the commune. If Verneuil has old sandstone quarries, its main activity remains today the culture of the vine and the manufacture of champagne with a hundred of farmers and three wine cooperatives, which cultivate its 350 hectares of vineyards, planted with the three traditional Champagne grape varieties, in majority of pinot meunier which represents 255 hectares to him only.
