The commune of Servon-Melzicourt has a German military cemetery. Located a little way from the village, it was created after the war by the French military authorities to serve as a collective cemetery. Today it is under the responsibility of the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge (German War Graves Commission). 10,147 German soldiers killed in the First World War are buried here, 6,526 of them in ossuary. A place of remembrance for all the souls sacrificed during the war.
