Strongly marked by the First World War, the village of Binarville still bears witness to the terrible fighting that took place there. Not far away, in the forest, are the remains of a former German camp, the Vallée Moreau. A monument has also been erected in memory of the Lost Battalion, the infamous American lost battalion. In the heart of Binarville, the Great War took its toll on the church of Saint-Étienne, which was rebuilt between 1926 and 1929 by architect Dufresne. Although late in the day, it's well worth a visit. The commune was awarded the Croix de Guerre 1914-1918 on October1, 1920.
