Main tourist centre of the Regional Natural Park of the East Forest. Formerly called Grand-Mesnil, to distinguish it from Petit-Mesnil or Ménilot, Mesnil-Saint-Father is quoted from the th century. The village is known for its eastern townships, seven of which still remained in 1885, which provided public buildings and special homes. The reputation of these glazed tiles, resistant to foam and wind, is quickly established. In the surrounding area, these roofs are coloured, brown, black, green, or yellow. The church Saint-Nizier de Troyes is a good example. Since then, and until the sinking of the last three tuileries in the East Lake, in 1967, tradition has remained alive.
