This is one of the major works of the Maginot Line, the place where the most deadly episode of the conquest of this line by the German troops took place. Entrenched in the galleries under a deluge of shells, 104 French soldiers all died of carbon dioxide poisoning on 19 May 1940. In Villy, a commune of just over 200 inhabitants, you can also discover the church of Saint-Martin, built after the Second World War (the old church was completely destroyed during the war, as was the village).
