La Celle-Guénand, a small picturesque village in southern Touraine, is worth visiting both for its 15th century castle, its 12th century Romanesque church with three naves and its museum dedicated to the tools and gestures of the past. The village experienced dark periods with the Repinçay massacre during the Second World War, but despite everything it has kept all its vigour and natural magnificence.
