Vicq-sur-Nahon is located in the natural region of Boischaut Nord. As its name indicates the commune is drunk by the river Nahon. Its territory is also crossed by the hiking trail of «Pays de Valençay» countries. Until the end of the 1960 s, an important cooperative dairy was established in the territory (its walls and its enseigne still exist on the road to Valençay). It produced cheese with cow's milk, goat (Le) and butter. The municipality is located in the geographical area and in the milk production area, the manufacture and refining of Valençay cheese.
