It was in Sainte-Severe, a charming commune, that Jacques Tati turned a few scenes from his film Day in 1947. Several centuries before, the place had a significant prehistoric human activity. This is reflected in the many archeological elements found in the surrounding area. The city has kept its charm with its fortified door, the halle where the market is held and the museum dedicated to Jacques Tati: The "Fête de Jour de Fête".
