Between the plains of the Beauce and the Normandy bocage, La Ferté-Vidame welcomes you to a privileged natural setting in the heart of the Parc naturel régional du Perche. In the 10th century, to prevent Norman invasions (the border being on the Avre), the town was transformed into a fortified place, but it was not until 1632 that it acquired its full grandeur, when the Duc de Saint-Simon settled here. Purchased in 1764 by the Marquis de Laborde, he had a veritable palace built here, whose grandiose ruins remind us of the magnificence of the construction.
