AL TRABUCCO DA MIMÌ

Restaurant on the water €€
3.9/5
28 reviews
Closed - Open to 11h30

An unusual setting for a meal at the water's edge, a trabucco where fishingnets are cut out against the sea in the background. The Ottaviano family, owners of the trabucco for five generations, concocts traditional or more innovative recipes with the fish caught in the fishing nets and the vegetables from the Peschici vegetable garden. Very pleasant also for the aperitivo, with a glass of Apulian wine accompanied by some seafood. Live jazz sessions in summer. This small refuge, once a secret place, is now known by many tourists.

We fell in love with this organic restaurant! Nestled in a beautifully restored traditional trulli house, you can sit under the vaults or on the veranda facing the vegetable garden where the owners pick the vegetables in front of you. Short circuit guaranteed! The welcome is warm and humble, and the decoration, with its menus and quotes written directly on the walls, contributes to this enveloping atmosphere. One feels good at Terra Madre and the cuisine, multi-vitamin and delicately cooked, is a parade of flavours.

An address not to be missed if you are passing through Savelletri. Fish and seafood are served raw. They are of course very fresh because you are here in a fishmonger's shop. "No salt or olive oil": this is the advice of the owner, Vito, to get the best possible taste of the sea. The large carpaccio allows you to taste about six different fish and seafood, depending on the day's catch. Many tartars and the possibility of choosing oysters, shrimps, etc., individually. To be accompanied by a good glass of local white wine.

The regulars' meeting place! Here you can find ultra-fresh seafood and Bari specialities, such as the simple and delicious riso potato e cozze (a traditional dish which, as its name suggests, consists of rice, potatoes and mussels, all baked in the oven), the polpo arrosto in panino (grilled octopus sandwich), or the crispy fried fish. You pay first at the cash register where you receive a number, then you pick up your order when it's ready! Typical and popular, all with a view of the small harbour, almost with your feet in the water.

It's not easy to offer vegan cuisine without resorting to the endless soy steaks! The challenge is taken up by this address which finds its inspiration in the diversity of the beautiful products of the land of Puglia, declined in unexpected associations, embellished with wild herbs, spices, dried fruits. It's good, it's tasty, and the simple reading of the map creates curiosity. To be tested with children (without announcing the colour beforehand) to be able to observe them delightfully swallow the vegetables they sulk at home!

A trendy establishment that offers a concept of street food from the sea to be enjoyed take away or on the spot. On 13 February 1503, a dispute took place between Italian and French soldiers, the famous "Barletta's challenge". The theatre of this dispute was a tavern run by Baccio da Rieti, a mysterious character who, according to legend, offered a poisoned digestive to get rid of the awkward customers! Rest assured, this tavern has now become a popular restaurant with many varieties of local and ultra-fresh fish. The chef cooperates with the best fishermen of the port. Characterful address to immerse yourself in the culinary magic of Barletta.

This is the restaurant of the hotel of the same name. From its beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, it offers a breathtaking view of the deep blue of the Adriatic and the historic city of Polignano, perched on the cliff opposite. The chef plays a marine score, as close as possible to the local product and its freshness. Here, you choose your own fish. After enjoying a welcome glass of champagne, you can choose one of the many bottles from the well-stocked wine cellar, with a preference for a bottle from Puglia.

The restaurant of the Patria Palace Hotel is the gastronomic address in town. In the summer, dinner is served on the terrace overlooking Santa Croce, the baroque masterpiece of Lecce. In winter, the taste buds come to marvel in the elegant vaulted hall of the palace. The cook brilliantly emphasizes the flavours of each of the foods, and the sea specialities are particularly successful. The presentation of the dishes is simple and elegant. The service is of a high standard, and the sommelier of good advice knows the history of each of his wines.

A unique place in the world! This restaurant, carved from the rocky promontory of the rocky promontory of the fascinating Palazzese cave, gives you a delicate opening between heaven and sea. This is one of the most fascinating addresses of Pudlia, and one of the most romantic of Italy… About the kitchen - correct but without excess - you have to taste the regional specialty, tiella alla pugliese, based on rice, potatoes and mussels. Magic and atypical, inevitably prices are feeling. But the experience is spectacular!

BRACERIA LOCAL CARNI

Meat restaurant

A family-run restaurant born from the close collaboration between two brothers: one runs the butcher's shop almost opposite, the other offers local meats in his restaurant. On the menu, therefore, are sausage, lamb chops, capocollo, bombette, fegatini (liver-based), mixed grills, all accompanied by baked potatoes and a pitcher of table wine. Rustic and very local atmosphere, with the television on in the background. Perfect for satisfying a carnivorous craving at low prices.
