Water sports and leisure activities New Aquitaine

Created in 2007, this association "law 1901" affiliated to the French Federation of Underwater Studies and Sports (FFESSM) gathers passionate volunteers. Lake or sea explorations, baptisms... Accessible from 10 years old, the Club has a slot at the Aygueblue aquatic center on Friday evening for winter dives. You will find this Landes underwater school at the Rey beach, behind the snack bar Le Cabanon, two fins away from the Hossegor canal; a unique shallow natural area. The deep dives off Capbreton are reserved for the initiated.

Want to sail the waves? From the age of 8 (accompanied by an adult, otherwise from 16 upwards), courses or leisure activities will be offered here as soon as the warm weather arrives. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, you'll be supervised by qualified instructors. As for the fleet, you can choose from: 35 optimists, 20 catamarans (New Cat F2, New Cat 12 and Hobie Cat 16), 60 sailboards, 20 double-handed dinghies, 15 single-handed dinghies... Enough to test your sea legs!

Open during the summer period, the municipal swimming pool of Puymirol is located rue des Amours. Born from the will of the inhabitants, the pool was built in 1975. The site enjoys an unobstructed view, overhanging the ramparts where one can quietly admire the greenery of the Pays de Serres. What a pleasure to be able to refresh oneself in summer in the three pools! Because in Lot-et-Garonne, the heat can sometimes be overwhelming... The swimming pool is supervised and you have a terrace with parasols. You just have to enjoy it.

Le Théâtre d'Eaux, the swimming pool of Fumel, opens three pools, one of 25 x 15 m, a smaller one (12 x 8 m) dedicated to recreational activities, with benches on the side to enjoy the bubbling baths, and a paddling pool for the little ones. Beautiful landscaping, with green areas planted with trees, wooden fences, and 120 m² of mineral beaches and multiple water games: a perfect solarium for a relaxing break. A must for the summer!

After the Pont-Vieux coming from the city center, go down the stairs of the wash house to the nautical base. In this club, you have the possibility in summer to rent small boats like an electrically propelled gabarot (up to 8 places). You can stroll along the course of the Lot in complete peace: you can go as far as Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot! You can also rent canoes, kayaks... The site of the Lac du Saut du Loup is a nature area that extends over 40 hectares. It includes a 12-hectare lake (swimming is not allowed), sports facilities, picnic and play areas, a restaurant, a village of cottages, a vacation center, a horse ranch... It is a paradise for fishermen (card holders), but also for walkers who can follow the banks or venture further into the forest. Perfect for oxygenation.

Lescouroux is an artificial lake designed to regulate the water supply of the Dropt river. With a surface area of 112 hectares and a 7 km-long promenade, the lake serves as an agricultural reservoir and is very popular with anglers (fishing permit required). Fishing is authorized according to the category of water (^2nd category lake) and the opening periods of the species sought. An ideal place for a family outing, a marked trail allows you to observe the life of the lake and the many birds present on the site.

Nestling in the heart of the town of Soustons, the lake stretches as far south as the village of Azur. At the Parc de la Pointe des Vergnes, you can enjoy the natural surroundings and observe grey herons, squirrels and wagtails. Stroll along the water's edge, enjoy a bike ride or a spot of fishing, or try your hand at sailing, stand-up paddling or canoeing (hire from the Centre Sportif de L'Isle Verte) in absolute peace and quiet. You'll also find a picnic area, as well as restaurants overlooking the water.

This aquatic complex of five pools (two of which are outdoor) invites you to enjoy water in all its forms: water jets, pools, whirlpools, massage bench, bubble plate, water slide... Three open and uncovered pools are accessible all year round with water between 28°C and 29°C. Mineral beach outside. A very pleasant area has been set up on the edge of the forest for picnicking with a dozen tables and benches laid out on a perfectly mowed lawn. The centre offers many activities for all ages.

Situated on the edge of a small historical town, this lake is pleasant and well-appointed. Rental of atvs, kayaks, pedal boats, bathing is supervised and children's games as well as a mini golf are offered.

Covering an area of 42 ha, this artificial lake was put into water in 1984, fed by the Farges stream. Swimming is supervised in summer. The leisure centre offers a number of nautical activities: sailing, windsurfing, rowing, canoeing, kayaking, children's playground, rental of dinghies, pedal boats, rowing boats. Fishermen will settle on the beaches to tease trout, roach and carp. The four-kilometre trail that borders the lake is passable on foot or by ATV. A fitness trail and a "leaves-in-leaves" hiking trail (18 km) await the more sporty. Bar-grill on site.

An artificial water reservoir on the Vézère river, the 100-hectare, 25-metre-deep lake has been awarded the "European Blue Flag" label thanks to the efforts made in environmental matters. It is the ideal place to relax and have fun, with family or friends. In an exceptional setting with a variety of meadows, wooded areas and rocky walls, the "nature sports resort" offers a wide range of seasonal activities: canoeing, rafting (on request outside the summer), pedal boat hire, mountain bike hire and trekking, with the possibility of introductory courses without accommodation. Beach with games for children and entertainment in summer: volleyball, petanque competition, table tennis and concerts at the snack bar. The club rents windsurfing, optimists, sailing boats, pedal boats, canoes and kayaks, and offers training and development courses, without accommodation, for small and large. For those who do not want to get wet, it is also possible to practice hiking, archery and fishing. Rowing is here the king sport and practice all year round, in competition and in leisure.

An ideal leisure area for learning to swim, having fun and taking part in group aquatic activities. It comprises three pools: an indoor sports pool with bleachers, a water play area, a paddling pool, a 150 m² indoor learning pool and a 25 m Nordic pool with six lanes for swimming and diving. The aqua-recreational center is composed of indoor and outdoor recreational and sports areas designed for the whole family. Indoors, swimmers have access to a 25 m sports pool and a sauna-hammam area. For free swimming and leisure activities, head for the 200 m² play pool with its massaging jets. During the summer season, a whole park of aquatic games unfolds: 25 m pool, water games, pool with slide, playground, beach volleyball court, ping-pong tables..

With two pools (25 m and 20 m), it welcomes swimmers looking to excel, day bathers and learners of all ages for aquatic courses and activities. A paddling pool invites the little ones to gently acclimatize to the aquatic environment, and a slide to have fun while exercising. A fitness area and wellness facilities (hammam, sauna, etc.) are also on site, as are numerous activities run by associations and the on-site team: aquagym, aquabike, swimming lessons... The Aqualons pool is a complete leisure center, a place for learning, relaxation and conviviality.

The quality of his teaching is recognized thanks to his pedagogy and his ability to adapt to all levels, from the youngest to the oldest. In individual or group lessons, Fabrice accompanies you in the water throughout your surfing sessions. You can also discover snorkeling and palm-walking.

Station Sports Nature is the perfect place for a day out with family and friends in summer. Just imagine! You're at the foot of the medieval city, on the edge of the Grand Parc forest, but also on the banks of the Vonne river. It's an exceptional natural setting for relaxation and leisure activities such as swimming, fishing, mini-golf, pétanque, volleyball, table tennis, children's games, cycling, hiking or canoeing. In addition to picnic tables, a snack bar is available.

The Grande Prairie waterway is a place to get out into the green and escape into contemplation for a walk. The loop around the water is three kilometres long and is a delight for joggers, cyclists and pedestrians. There is a children's playground, tables for family picnics, toilets, a refreshment bar for hot or cold days. Swimming is supervised on weekends and in the summer, and the sailing school is set up there. A large car park is available for users, as well as a parking area for motorhomes.

Aquabike, prenatal aquagym, swimming school and courses, aquaphobia, water jump, restaurant, fitness session, balneotherapy area... The UCPA Aqua Stadium in Mérignac is the new aquatic and sports destination. The hardest part may be finding your way around the prices. Between the ocean and the Izadia ecological park, Anglet's Skate Park extends over 2,500 m². Here you can practice both skating and rollerblading. In the land of canoeing, Stand Up Paddle Périgord has opened France's first river-based Stand Up Paddle rental school. Stand Up Paddle or SUP is a new water sport, an outdoor leisure activity derived from surfing. It's practiced on long, bulky, highly stable boards with a large paddle. A great way to get out on the water, it's fun, easy and accessible to all, and is said to keep you in shape. Initiations, accompanied descents among medieval castles and prehistoric remains are on the program.

A pond that alone warrants a visit, and an after-midi ! This pond at 12 ha offers supervised swimming in the summer and the after-midi ! It has been fitted out, you will find diving boards, pedal boat rentals, as well as the possibility to practice windsurfing and even pêche ! Many games have been provided for children, who will also be able to go for a pony ride.

Since 1967, the Pôle nautique de Soustons-Plage has been an institution in the Landes for welcoming groups. With transport and accommodation service! Otherwise, you come for a few hours of surfing from the age of 7, to try your hand at windsurfing from the age of 5, to try out the mini catamaran, rent a canoe, kayak or paddle or sign up for a 12 km ride on the current. This ski lift, one of the best equipped in France, regularly attracts high level training courses and regional or national competitions. Specialized wakeboard operators will welcome you and help you to progress, on a water surface protected from the wind in the middle of nature. Kneeboarding (the simplest activity) is a water sport that consists of sliding on the water in a kneeling position on a board. You can try water skiing and wakeboarding for the more adventurous. A double pulley allows people over 10 years old to try it.

Surfescapade is a surf school located in the town of Tarnos. The school offers surf lessons for all levels, from beginner to advanced. Lessons are given by experienced and passionate instructors. The school also offers bike rentals, in partnership with Cyclescapade.

" The Yacht Club de Pau, under the sponsorship of Titouan Lamazou is first and foremost a cub for exceptional lovers of tradition. It's goal is to share this legacy that we have had privilege, to revive and to offer our members the opportunity to sail on board sailing boats "entrusts the men of this creation. The Société des Régates Rochelaises is one of the best and oldest light sailing clubs in France. In 2021, the club merged with the Ecole de Voile Rochelaise to become "La Rochelle Nautique". The place is still very popular with those who want to learn sailing, it was elected Club of the Year in 2013 and has trained many champions, some becoming references in their category. The Society organizes international light sailing competitions thanks to an adapted plan, ideal infrastructures and a recognized experience.

Three important poles were built around the lake. In Santrop, it is the reception and entrance door of the lake. Here you find the house of the park, a pole of the community Tourist Office of Gartempe Saint-Pardoux. In Chabannes it is rather the reception of young people and groups. As for the Site site, it is oriented towards the practice of water leisure and the reception of tourist clients in residence.

Two sites are available, Châtelaillon-Plage and of course the Island of Ré with two spots that change according to wind orientation: the beach of Boutillon and that of Grouin. In addition to the boat and canoe trips offered by the Maison de la Nature du Bassin d'Arcachon, located at the entrance to the Parc Ornithologique, there is another area dedicated to nature and family leisure activities. Surf Session is a surfing magazine published in France. It tracks good waves, offers a weather report, gives news and the site has opened a "surfers" section. Good addresses of shops, schools and clubs, very practical and also bars and restaurants to frequent after surfing. The oldest French surf magazine was founded in 1986 by Gibus de Soultrait and Pierre Bernard-Gascogne in Biarritz. It remains the^first French surfing magazine and still leader on its market. On its website, you can find videos, tutorials and an online store.

From the base at Cénac or Siorac-en-Périgord, there is a wide choice of routes ranging from seven to thirty kilometers between Saint-Julien-de-Lampon and Limeuil. You're free to ride for half a day, a full day or just a few hours. With a little training and determination, it's also possible to go on real treks of two or more days on the waters of the Dordogne, from 38 to 110 km. It's a wonderful experience in an exceptional natural setting that will leave you with wonderful memories, whether with friends or family.
