Saint-Savinien is one of the most pleasant towns, offering a soft light for everyone who wants to stroll along the Charente. But the town also has a miniature port which is linked to the passion of one man: Jean-Louis Foucaud. This ship carpenter had the idea of creating model fishing and merchant ships for children. This was done as early as 1987 with the first four ships that delighted children. Today, 18 replicas are available, to the delight of children, who can take the helm for a moment. The most? D's municipal swimming pool of Ornon offers an Olympic basin of 8 swimming lanes 50 metres long. Slow, medium, fast or palmes swimmers spread according to areas. A basin is also available for children. This is the first to be rebuilt with a High Environmental Quality approach. The staff were friendly and helpful. A choice among the many activities throughout the year: gym, baby swimmers and aquatic awakening, swimming school. With a surface area of 410 ha, the lake of Neuvic is fed by the stream of the same name which has its source on the plateau of Millevaches. The development of the lake, following the construction of the upstream dam, was the work of Henri Queuille, a politician who was several times President of the Board. The site has been awarded the "Blue Flag" and "Handiplage" labels. Numerous aquatic activities (sailing, water skiing, and outdoor activities, golf, children's games) are practiced there. Without forgetting fishing. Swimming is supervised in summer. The sailing school is open every day in July and August, it offers courses and equipment hire: optimist, canoe, windsurfing, catamaran, dinghy.

Becalou Canoe Kayak was created by Sophie Bégin, a former top-level kayak-polo athlete. You can rent a kayak by the hour for a trip through the salt meadows. For a longer experience, you can take your picnic and sail all the way to the Arcachon Basin! If you'd like to be supervised by a professional, themed outings are available: sunset in the salt meadows, kayaking and astronomy, ornithology, botany or oyster farming, as well as a hike to Île aux Oiseaux and breakfast at sunrise.
