V'LILLE

Bike rental
4/5
1 review

To get around Lille quickly, there is nothing better! Faced with the growing demand and the disparities in the location of the stations, the municipality has decided to increase their number, especially in Roubaix and Tourcoing. On the development side: hundreds of kilometres of cycle paths, car parks and bicycle shelters. On the practical side, it is possible to rent a V'Lille for a day, a week or a year. Advantageous rates are offered to Ilévia subscribers. To know the availability of bikes in real time, go to the website.

PARKING SAINT LEU

Parking
4/5
1 review

This parking is the closest to the cathedral but also to the lively district of St. Leu and the restaurants of the Bélu wharf. It is also one of the city's cheapest underground parking garages. Very accessible thanks to its wide corridors, even the descent to achieve it is done smoothly for the least reassuring drivers. You exit directly on the square of the cathedral which is very convenient for tourists who cannot walk very long.

A small station, called "bifurcation", has an SNCF ticket vending machine and a ticket office. Trains that stop there have destinations such as Lille, Rouen, Abbeville, Calais, Abancourt and Albert. There is a car park in front of the building. It is a good solution for local residents. It was put into service in 1847 and heavily bombed during the Second World War. Pierre Dufau, the chief architect of the time, rebuilt it. For a long time without commercial staff, it has had a ticket office since 2008. In June 2020, the passenger building was listed as a historical monument.

Located below the SNCF train station, the bus station is the place where many coaches leave for all France. Several local companies take turns to serve Abbeville, Beauvais, Berneuil, Crèvevoeur-le-Grand, Doullens, Mers-les-Bains, Montdidier, Péronne, Roye... Fares are rather random (traveling by bus from Amiens is not always cheaper than taking the train) and schedules are a bit restrictive, but many destinations are served. Keep an eye on it!
