LE PURGATOIRE

Wine bar

Sharing and enjoyment are the two watchwords of this place imagined as a "wine bar". The warm atmosphere is conducive to sharing and meeting new people. It's the ideal place to quench your thirst or fill a small (or large) hole in the wall. The wine list is immense and conducive to discovery, with wines from every continent and genre, and bottles to be emptied with pleasure (and moderation). Whether on the terrace or indoors, the atmosphere is always good, and you can even eat at any time of the day, because here, they cook non-stop all day long!

The Darwin is THE place to be on the Wine Route! It is a bar (ciders, beers, wines) AND a cellar decorated with bric-a-brac. The whole is used as a setting for tastings of flambéed pies cooked on a wood fire according to grandmother's recipes. In addition to the aforementioned flammakuecha, this resto-bar offers gourmet planks whose composition changes with the seasons: Savoy tomme, Italian coppa chiffonade, Touraine sainte-maure cheese... Here is something to tickle your taste buds with a good vintage/beer from the Darwin's great menu!

The mandatory stopover for beer lovers of all kinds! The atmosphere is great in this friendly Irish pub but if this address has become a must, it is above all for its well-stocked beer menu. In all, more than 130 bottles and 18 draught beers: the essential Trappists of Belgium and the Netherlands, the local people of Champagne, the English amber, the smoked Germans, the Irish, Scottish or Canadian stouts and the Italian pale ale... Each pint of the fabulous hop drink makes you discover the typical notes of its terroir, a true journey through Europe with a short detour to America.

With its incredible "jungle" decor, Le Léobar invites you to relax over a house cocktail (Sazerac, Negroni, Mai Tai, so dear to Californian writer Armistead Maupin), a glass of wine, spirits, beer, soft drink or... something stronger! To make the most of the decor and ambience, the establishment also offers a léo'stumpi. What are they? The atmosphere is always festive in this Champagne pub! We move away from the bustle of the Place d'Erlon to the calm of the Rue du Jard, a stone's throw from the cathedral. On the program, champagne of course, with about thirty references to be tasted, a beautiful wine list but also craft and local beers on draught, house cocktails and delicious tapas to be shared in conviviality. Planks of cold meats and mature cheeses, terrines, croques, all good things to nibble on. And throughout the year, the bar comes alive with thematic evenings: blind test, darts tournament, Beaujolais evening or fondue party!

Nestled in a small passage on rue de Vesle, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, this tea room is a real temple of temptation for the gourmands. During a gourmet break, delicious pastries invite themselves to your table: from the very meringue lemon tart, the house's speciality, to the creamy violet cheesecake, not to mention the brioche toast topped with salted butter caramel, a real delight! At lunchtime, Chez Harold also offers you good homemade dishes to eat: savoury pies, sandwiches, salads and risotto, why deprive yourself? Here, greed is a nice flaw.

La Gourmandise is the story of the Brodbeck family for 50 years and of the Mulhousians who come to sip a coffee on the terrace or a salad pie at lunch time. Thomas Brodbeck, the son, takes over the institution, passionate and necessarily greedy like his father. He obviously keeps the spirit, but he revisits it! The work is as good as the change. Atmosphere so Frenchy! Nestled in the Halles district, it is the essential wine bar in Reims. An atypical place between its oak barrels where you can enjoy a drink on the terrace, its baroque interior and its panoramic terrace on the first floor. But if you are looking for a little piece of paradise in the heart of the city, it's in the courtyard. The festival is of all times in this temple impossible to circumvent! There is a perpetual movement here that intoxicates and melts with the scent of Guinness. Irish beer of reference, it is the link between all. It interferes in conversations, it is loved by the lonely, it becomes a chameleon, takes on shades of gold or amber depending on the atmosphere. Friends' reunions, student parties, dating know how to find their place, punctuated by a pool table or a concert. What's more, theme evenings and special rates on all beers are available to students during the school year. These lucky ones take advantage of the "happy hour" on certain products after 9pm. A place of warm winters inside, the Pub l'Irlandais is also a partner in the summer when, on the neighbouring Place Thiers, its terrace is set up and adds stars to the stars in the sky. A place where you can also enjoy a homemade dish of the day.

LES FRÈRES BERTHOM

Barely inside, we like the irresistible atmosphere of the place. A false decor, lit at lanterns where wooden casings and stools are scattered here and there… with a bit of imagination, you think you're in a tavern of the Far West or in a pirate monument where lots of robbers talk! The Berthom Brothers? It's primarily a reference pub on Metz and elsewhere since the sign is present in about fifteen cities and since we come here to taste many exceptional beers. It's a meticulous one, because the map is not far from fifty, in pressure or in bottle. And every proposal is accompanied by an interesting and useful explanation when you're lost in this tidal wave of blondes and brown. We have a small little for Maredsous 8 (brown) in pressure, for his subtle peat notes, or the Trappist Rochefort bottled for his powerful aroma. with small dry sausages or cheeses (consigned) to snack for a few euros… Attention, these beers are strong, they are really to be tasted slowly, to make the pleasure last! On the soft side, this place is very popular with students (it is crowded from Thursday to Saturday evening), a happy-hour effect requires: The pint is at the price of half from 7 p. m. to 9 p. m. In summer, the terrace does not dissolve! We understand the service is efficient and friendly.

Run smart. advice to drivers, the map offers non-alcoholic cocktails and the establishment establishes a custom taxi service.

Muy caliente evenings in perspective at La Bodega! In this bar with a Hispanic accent, we like to meet with friends as it is tradition after the férias to share some homemade tapas with a salsa or aïoli sauce and to sip a cocktail on a latino tune. Between the mojito bar on Fridays during the summer, the flash tatoo evenings, the live soccer matches, the DJ mixes, the concerts that spice up the year's program, the atmosphere is always festive. Those looking for the temple of beer in Metz should head straight for the statue of Saint-Louis. It is certainly not the saint who will serve you a drink, but here you are next to the bar. The atmosphere is festive and lively, and it is difficult to come across expressions of boredom on the terrace or in the bar. With a reference of 500 beers in stock, 200 beers ready to be served on the tables and about ten draught beers, it's quite something to drink. To be discovered in lager beers: the Barbar, the Chouffe or the Averbode..., in amber beers: the Delirium, the Gulden Draak... But beware, they can be treacherous: soft in the mouth but strong in alcohol. With moderation of course!
