A former airplane pilot, Dave Bednarowicz took up craft beer brewing in 2013, a passion he'd already pursued as an amateur. Today, he produces no less than 10,000 liters a month. Beers brewed year-round include Pilote en Mousse (blonde), Covale (white), Boom (blonde IPA), Kervignacoise (triple) and Chonchon (amber). Building on its success, the brewery now welcomes you to a beautiful space in a former printing works, converted into a brewpub for evening concerts, tastings and afterworks!

Located in the heart of South Finistère, a stone's throw from the sandy beaches, the brewery welcomes the public in a reserved area where the different beers are offered on draught: britt, recognizable among all by its "puffin" bird, but especially its flavor that evokes the strength and freshness of the Finisterian waves, Saint-Erwann, with intense and varied flavors, an organic beer with seven abbey-type cereals, Dremmwel, and Ar-Men, which is not only organic, but has a lot of character and comes in four recipes.

We would deal here with the oldest cider of France led by the fourth generation «Johann». This is, in any case, a great family history begun in 1892, when Joseph (Johann) decided to base at the Field of Fairground near Paimpol Harbour a house of cider, wine and spirits trading in order to supply schooners to Iceland and local businesses. From the beginning, the cider is made on the spot and alongside, on the boats, the wine imported from Bordeaux. Trade lasts until the 1980 s when wine consumption begins to decline. A chance? Established for over 4 years in Roadstead, the winery of Regusse offers the production of a superb vineyard of Provence, which has been awarded numerous awards and medals over the years. Just a stone's throw from the Place du Martray, this renowned cellar has been a fixture of the wine scene since 1985, and boasts some 2,500 wine references. Here, you'll find expert advice and the ability to guide you towards small, surprising vintages as well as fine houses. You'll also find whiskies, old rums, armagnacs, cognacs and calvados. Beers have pride of place, with around a hundred references. The grocery section offers a fine range of local products: buckwheat potato chips, caramels, preserves, teas... This distillery is a family farm specializing in the cultivation of cider apple trees. As an extension of this production activity, Nicolas Poirier and his team carefully produce quality products using traditional methods, including fresh and acidulous aperitifs such as the "Little Prince Guillevic". The eaux de vie distilled in their still are aged in oak barrels in their own cellar. The production, labeled organic, is planted with about fifteen Breton bitter, bitter-sweet, sweet or tart varieties.

It's an institution in the Trégor region, found in every bar. This brand of beer is named after the great-grandmother of Bertrand Salomon, the brewery's founder. Handcrafted from organic, local barley, Philomenn comes in red, blonde, stout, peat, white, triple... not to mention the ephemera. To make your choice, visit the brewery, which has taken over former railway workshops on the banks of the Jaudy. The beautifully renovated brick warehouse features a sales and tasting area, with a view of the vats.

Installed across from Belz town hall, the Ria cellar renamed Ivre Mer cellar in 2023, opened its doors in July 2017. There is a nice selection of wines but also spirits, cider and local craft beers. The boss is Simon. He welcomes you to his cellar with pleasure and good humor and will bring you, as a passionate connoisseur, his sound advice to find the bottle that will ideally accompany your feast. The cellar serves as a wine bar during the two weekly markets of Belz.

The latest addition to the Jus d'Octobre cellars that have been delighting Malouins since 2014, this address opened its doors at the end of 2019, to the delight of epicureans on the banks of the Rance. The cellar offers a fine selection of wines and spirits, all tasted and approved by the team, which delivers sound advice. Its objective is to make you enjoy the complexity and diversity of the world of wine in a welcoming and modern setting. Le Jus d'Octobre continues its journey, favouring wines that respect the environment.

In the Loup Gourmand you enter Brittany greedy. The house is known for its unique choice of Breton beers: more than 150 references from the 60 listed breweries. It was formerly called «The house of the 100 Breton beers». In fact, when you pass the door, you are immediately impressed by the quantity of bottles dividing the walls from the floor to the ceiling. White, blond, elliptical, brown, organic, hops or black wheat, small bottles or large containers, they spoil beginners and connoisseurs, who sometimes come from very far. The house also offers a huge offer of Breton liquor and food specialities at very good prices. In 2016 a website is in gestation to present all this.

The Gorvello cider house is a small family farm of 18 ha, recently organic. Nicolas Poirier elaborates with care and according to artisanal methods quality products, including two ciders from Brittany, the "Tradition" cuvée (IGP Bretagne), acidulous and fruity, and the famous "Guillevic" cuvée, monovarietal, typical of the Vannes region. You will find, here again, two house specialties: "Le petit Guillevic", a blend of monovarietal cider and cider brandy, and "La Fleur de cidre", sweet apple wine. To be tasted without moderation!

At the Benoît family, the cider-making know-how has been perpetuated from father to son for decades. Their multi-awarded production is referenced in many restaurants of the region. Their range includes a dozen kinds of ciders (organic, rosé, flavored...) and some spirits. The cuvée Prestige, aged in oak barrels, offers a cider of a beautiful golden color, which develops aromas of tarte Tatin and caramel in the mouth. The new and spacious store, located on the road between Lamballe and Pléneuf, also offers other local products.

This is probably the largest cellar in Brittany with its 800 m 2 of thematic spaces and discoveries of all kinds. A veritable temple dedicated to Bacchus in an innovative and particularly attractive setting. You will find about 1 500 references of wines, from France or the World, but also from alcohols (from the most classical to atypical) and 80 references of bag in box. Dominique Cohonner, welcomes you to Dinan in his establishment which gives pride of place to quality, ethical and organic wines. Labelled AB, Terra-vitis, Nature et progrès, Biodynamique or Demeter, these wines limited in treatment will accompany your meals. The wine shop also offers beer, rum and whisky for sale. Tastings are regularly organized there on the occasion of the latest novelties, as well as tasting evenings. The establishment is a stone's throw from the town centre and you will find free parking nearby.

Guy Le Lay is a magician! But it runs in the family, he is a worthy and talented representative from a long line of distillers. One needs to discover his latest splendour, "Eddu Silver", an original whiskey which is made from Breton buckwheat, and only buckwheat, which is quite unique in the world. The divine drink exudes an aroma of vanilla wood. In the mouth, it is a selection of fruity flavours, hints of honey and spices. Added to the range, a little brother, the blended whiskey "Eddu Grey Rock" and the prestigious "Eddu Gold". Also cider, lambig AOR produced here since 1921 is available in two versions, standard (3 years old) and old reserve (7 years old). The Pommeau de Bretagne AOC also declined in two versions, standard (2 years old) and old (4-5 years old). Pommeau and lambig were regular award winners at the contest of Général Agricole de Paris. A huge establishment.

The Val de Rance cider factory was born from the association of twelve cider apple producers from Pleudihen-sur-Rance. Its role is to transform the apple juice into cider before marketing it. Cidres bouchés bruts, sweet, organic, farm and table ciders are made by the cellar master who ensures that the products are made with respect for both the know-how and the raw material. Visits are organized, punctually, during the year or by appointment.

Alice, the manager, and Marie welcome us to this cellar on the pretty cobbled rue de la Monnaie. Run by a former airline pilot, the store has recently been given a facelift. Drenched in pastel green, terra cotta and Mediterranean blue tones, the intimate setting exudes conviviality. Here, you'll find a natural and biodynamic wine cellar and a grocery corner. You'll spot Laura David's Loire wines, ciders and perries from L'Aubinière in Janzé... and even a surprising blend of white, rosé and red for aperitifs that's all the rage: Gilles Troullier's Guerilleros. The two women also offer tasting sessions, notably on Wednesday evenings.

As a renowned Brest-based brand, at the Chais d'Iroise you will find classic wines and alcohols but also more and more organic references. This is the originality of this shop. Here, more than 100 varieties from all regions of France and terroirs, from organic viticulture, in bottles or fountains, are offered to you. Comptoir Irlandais is a paradise for lovers of this characterful island across the Channel. Here you'll find all the major brands of tea, in bags and loose. In the caves de l'Argoat, you'll be able to find some very good wine. In the land of Per Jakez Helias and Hénaff pâté, in an old farmhouse with an undeniable cachet, Patrick Daniel (the first brewer in the Bigouden region in 1999!) brews traditional, top-fermented, pure malt, unfiltered beers in vats from Wales. There are five types of beer from Penhors: amber, blonde, brown, white and stout. About 400 hl/year come out of the Bigouden vats. And since a few years, a delicious organic lemonade is also made on the spot! A very nice discovery.

A wine specialist, La Cave de la Rocade welcomes you in its shop located in Pont-l'Abbé. Here you can discover a selection of wines (Italian and Spanish), but also spirits, spirits and champagne. The Cellar also offers bulk coffee and tea. In all, there are no fewer than 1 500 references here with, in addition, table and cellar accessories, glasses, carafes, regional products…

Jean-Marie Gouédard took over the meadery created by his father Patrick, an ex-beekeeper: they make chouchenn, the Breton name given to an alcoholic drink similar to mead, liquorous, obtained from the fermentation of honey in water. The factory is installed in a traditional building of 1919, former wine storehouse of a wine merchant. In the courtyard, there are still two vats of 70 hectoliters each. By appointment, you can of course enjoy a guided tour of the cellars, with a nice tasting of chouchenn.

Ty Ar Gwin is a pleasant place to discover and taste wines from independent winegrowers, with no fewer than 700 references, most of them from human-scale estates, reflecting a constant quest for authenticity. Present for 30 years in Beaussais-sur-Mer, the Galland brothers' cellar (they are three) offers a wide range of products from all regions of France. The Cave des Ducs, led by Stéphane Gilloury, is a shop specialising in trade in wines and other alcoholic beverages. You will find a large selection of drinks and an ultra-competent staff to advise you, especially when accompanied by a meal. Wines are offered in a wide range of prices, suitable for all awards. So do not hesitate to cross the threshold of this shop for beautiful discoveries.

Located at 20, Place Nicolazic, Jean-Luc Larvoir's cellar for eating and drinking boasts no fewer than 500 references of wines, whiskies and Champagne. The third establishment of Maisons Glenn Anna, Les Tokés du 20 invites neophytes and enlightened connoisseurs alike to the pleasures of tasting. To satisfy every palate, young, fruity, gourmet vintages rub shoulders with prestigious wines, while in the kitchen, the owner offers boards of Iberian charcuterie, burratas, salads and tartines, as well as a weekly dish of the day.

This friendly bar-cave, a stone's throw from the Place du Martray, welcomes you in a warm and atypical retro setting. Here, you can enjoy an excellent homemade hot chocolate or, at aperitif time, enjoy a beer or glass of wine, accompanied by a charcuterie board. In the back room, the beer cellar offers a vast selection of Breton and Belgian mousses, as well as rums, whiskies and a regional grocery corner. Apero concerts are regularly organized. What a great story this family distillery has. Tired of a life spent behind a desk, these young founders left the city for this project. Their first gin, named Polly, was a great success with distributors in the region. New recipes are already in the works, including a whiskey. They will use as many local herbs and ingredients as possible. The distillery and its store are open in Kerdelec to welcome you, visit, exchange without moderation and of course taste.

Le Cru Gourmand Sarl is a restaurant. It offers on-site meals, take-away and contactless delivery. Customers appreciate the staff's warm welcome, the speed of service and the quality of the dishes on offer. Some customers have also commented on the varied choice of dishes and the fact that they are well presented. However, a few negative reviews mentioned disappointment with the quantity of dishes and their simplicity.

This artisanal distillery is one of the editor's favourites! The Moby Dick distillery produces small pearls to be consumed in moderation. Verbena liqueur, nasturtiums or Elixir d'amour are some of their creations. They also produce whisky (Sky peated, white and amber), gin and pastis. It is even possible to take part in a workshop to make whisky or other aperitifs. Super quality!

Located in the heart of Saint-Martin, l'Urbaine is an artisanal micro-brewery in Brest created by Julien Plégades. The establishment wants to be a place of creation and production of artisanal beers in an eco-responsible spirit. L'Urbaine offers organic beers made with passion! The Stoner, a blonde Pale Ale, for example, is distributed in bars, restaurants and wine shops. Here is a modest craft brewery that seems to be filled with beautiful human and ecological values: research, taste and pleasure!

Gérald, three-time world champion windsurfer, is passionate about the maritime world and beer brewing. It was therefore natural that he wanted to set up his brewery on the quays of Brest, at the marina. The first beer brewed, a light lager, is, as will be the following ones, artisanal and organic. As for the partners of the brewery, they are local and supportive. In short, a port beer, made to federate and transmit the taste of the open sea! The wager is successful: a real pleasure! Born in 2016, the "brewery of the tontons" is the fruit of the adventures and desires of its three founders: Mathieu, Benoît and Benjamin. In an old boathouse, the beers (of Anglo-Saxon inspiration) are produced from about fifteen hops and a dozen barley and wheat malts. They have a fruity taste, with citrus and pine aromas, and a pleasant bitterness. Their Tagarin Ale, Blanche IPA, Witbier, Stout Toujours and IPA can also be found in several local wineries and bars. The tours are fun and informative!

Since 1989, this cellar located in the center of Perros selects good wines from different French wine regions. The wines are well classified, by region. One also discovers a selection of small prices and delicatessen products, including a corner reserved for Breton products. With, in particular, rum babas from Saint-Malo, organic ciders from P'tit Fausset and the cider factory of Léguer, the Fine de Bretagne, beers from 7 regional craft breweries, good products from the canning factory of Groix island... The team is always of good advice.

Taken over in 2023 by Vincent Briend, a passionate wine merchant for 15 years, "La Cave du Vincin" specializes in natural, organic and biodynamic wines. It also offers a fine range of spirits, rare whiskies, agricultural and traditional rums and regional beers. In addition to its classic sales activity, since September 2023 the house has been organizing tasting evenings by prior arrangement. A golden opportunity to discover the 1001 references of this completely renovated cellar, which also offers a delicatessen section and local fruit juices.

Mathieu is an independent wine merchant who knows how to find you good little bottles off the beaten track. This nice cellar in Saint-Lunaire offers a nice selection of wines, champagne and spirits. The reception is very professional and Mathieu takes the time to listen and to guide the faithful customers as well as those of passage. We really appreciate this small cellar which has all the features of a big one, and the kindness of the reception. A refrigerated cellar allows you to take bottles at the right temperature for immediate tasting.

If Coin Mousse is a beer bar, it's also a beer cellar. Some 120 French craft beers are on offer. After visiting some sixty brewers in France, Nicolas and Anne-So brought back their hand-picked selection. Among the Breton breweries are Tri Martolod, Touken, Menez ar Breizh and Skumenn. We'll tell you which ones we prefer, but the best thing to do is go and taste them, and make your own selection for your next aperitif. Gourmets can share a board, or stop off on the way back from the Lices or Mail markets to pick up a beverage to accompany their find.

It will soon be 10 years since the Skumenn ("Écume" in Breton) craft brewery began supplying the people of Rennes with its aromatic, organic beers. What a journey it's been since childhood friends Thomas Cléraux and Stéphane Le Boucher were brewing in their garage! The Brewpub, with its direct view over the large vats of the production workshop, is a great place to come for an afterwork, to listen to a punk concert or Irish music. The atmosphere is warm and inviting: antique furniture, velvet banquettes, rugs on the floor with an indus' spirit that we love. And of course, we come to buy our favorite beers direct, packaged in bottles, cans or growlers.

When two beer-loving friends decided to make a living from their passion, the result was Dourennan: a craft beer cellar on Rue Victor Hugo. More than 150 references are on offer, from local and regional breweries as well as from Belgium and elsewhere. Dourennan means "to hydrate, to salivate" in Breton. The establishment lives up to its name, with the two partners enthusiastically passing on their taste for hops. And because there's no substitute for tasting, a dedicated space is available for afterworks and workshops. We enjoy our beers, accompanied by charcuterie and vegetarian spreads. Not forgetting, of course, a selection to take away with you!

Xavier is a passionate guy who fell in tiny. This winery, originally laid, sells wines of producers, name or countries from all wine-growing France. He himself chooses his suppliers and his favourites are located in the south of France. Loïc has not forgotten that Ille-et-Vilaine is the cradle of Breton cider, and it is a wonderful tribute to perpetuate ancestral know-how. We no longer count the medals gleaned over the years in the competition of the cider of Brittany. Silver and bronze have repeatedly earned passion, the art of work well done and respect for the land. If you have the chance to meet him, you'll see, it's still a character, that Loïc. He will tell you the apple varieties: Bedan, Small sweet, By, Sweet onions, Frequin, Damelot, long foot… names that sing and blend to give this cider of cru to the scents of the pool.
