A really nice place, as we like them, with little lights here and there, people who have a smile, especially locals. We particularly recommend the Danish buffet!

The culinary concept is Asian cuisine mixed with some Scandinavian ideas. You can go there by snowmobile, there is of course a place to park them in front of the restaurant! The windows are very big, so you can have a great view of the surrounding nature. A great experience for the eyes and the taste buds.

This historic restaurant is located between Hotel Bryggen and Hotel Scandic and is housed in a charming house on the quayside that was once used as a fish shed. In the summer, a wooden boat in front of the restaurant serves as a bar. Sjøbua was once one of the best fish restaurants on the entire coast, and the fishermen would dock directly in front of it. The cook would choose the fish on the pontoon. Today, the menu changes with the seasons and the arrival of fish and shellfish. The lobster soup is really famous.

At the very end of the quay, the Lothes restaurant is perched on a low rock wall overlooking the harbour. The 140 year old house has its own ghost. The atmosphere is warm and it is well kept. An old sideboard sits in the tiny entrance. In the attic, the small rooms that serve as dining rooms are lined with sky blue or pink striped paper with flowers while the tables are dressed with matching lavender tablecloths... The dishes are beautiful and successful, with the fish of the day or lamb on the menu, both Norwegian. Expensive but very good!

Ideal for those who are a little peckish, this tapas café bar offers a delightful menu of small tasty dishes: marinated chicken, vegetables in sauce, cheeses, everything is deliciously colourful. Some Asian dishes, three kinds of tacos and of course the traditional Norwegian dish: hamburgers! You can also simply have a salad or a dessert with a coffee. For children, there are 3 children's menus to choose from for 80 NOK. The drinks menu is very well stocked, with suggestions for non-alcoholic beer. Not a bad place with plenty of choice.

Les To Kokker, or Les Deux Cuisiniers, in French, is located on the quays, at the end of the covered passage, among the old houses of the Hanseatic merchants. It has the reputation of being one of the best restaurants in Bergen, and even in Norway. It's nice to have a choice of three menus, as it's not often the case in Norway. The chefs are keen to use fresh local and seasonal products, and this is reflected in the food. A restaurant to enjoy and taste new flavours!

A table located in the heart of the district classified as a World Heritage Site, which dates back to 1708 and deserves to be known! You really have the impression of being transported somewhere else, a bit like in a Far West movie set, with all these old wooden boards. The cuisine is of very good quality and you can taste many local specialities, like dried fish soup, whale steak, grilled reindeer fillet or desserts with brunost, the famous caramelized cheese. Large terrace in summer. Remember to make a reservation. We recommend it!

An excellent gourmet menu in a recently renovated establishment. A modern kitchen with a menu that changes according to the season. At lunchtime, you can enjoy fish soup, shrimp toast, shellfish pasta or chicken salad. In the evening, we prefer meat or fish dishes, such as the halibut filet baked in the oven and accompanied by a mozzarella burrata mousse, vegetables and orange vinaigrette. Children's menu. Very tasty desserts!

If you're tired of burgers and sushi, if you're in the mood for a light meal and why not vegetarian, then here's the Great Gandhi. For the undecideds, in other words, for those who don't like to choose so as not to give up, this restaurant had the good idea to propose a buffet with three dishes to choose from (lamb curry + vegetarian korma + chicken curry) with salad, rice, naans, coffee and dessert, all for 389 NOK. Top notch!

Other dishes are cheaper, such as lasagne, served with a salad (NOK 85). Tapas are also available. This place doesn't look like much, but their home-made products are very good and can save you a trip to a more expensive restaurant. Desserts and cakes should be ordered the day before for the next day. A birthday to celebrate?

This restaurant is located in the Rica hotel of the city. He is well known for his fish dishes, very fine. The quality is at the meeting and prices are reasonable, especially as the frame and view on the port are pleasant.

The former village grocery store is home to one of the Lofoten's nicest restaurants. The floor has kept its natural stone slabs and the walls are made of rough planks. On the first floor, the two rooms are decorated with a small boat suspended from the ceiling and decorated with some dried codfish. The service is provided by trendy young girls dressed in their traditional leather aprons borrowed from fishermen. The menu offers a fish soup, cod, of course, salted and dried mutton.

On a quay bordered at the very beginning by the central station, this place is ideal for all travellers! It is a boathouse for wintering, which when the sun comes back out is transformed into a rather rustic bar, all wood, crates and fishermen's nets; a decor which is also the soul of this place. Solid guys haunt the tables before going back to restore their old trawlers... The bacalao are delicious, the local beer, the Dahl, too. Not necessarily very welcoming but perfect for those looking for a local atmosphere.

Large café located on the main square of Voss, near the church. Very friendly welcome. Really bright indoor room with wooden floor, perfect for the art exhibitions the place offers. Burgers (including veggie) and sweet potato fries are served in small wooden boxes. A place where locals gather for a good casual time, it seems. The terrace is very large and well laid out. On the upper floor you can also see exhibitions, and in the summer, outside, there are concerts of all musical styles on weekends.

Built in 1220, this place was a mill that belonged to the monastery on the island of Hovedøya. The one with homemade truffle mayonnaise is very good, as is their veggie burger option which is very tasty and well spiced. Potato fries, but also sweet potato and parmesan fries, or even a mix. Most of the sauces are also homemade. Recommended if you have a sudden urge to eat something fast and fatty!

This hot dog stand, stuck in a wall, has a long history! For 100 years it has been feasting osloite stomachs and delighting the curious. This restaurant is also well placed in Oslo to see a corner where you don't necessarily go otherwise. A nice place to eat well without spending much money.

A new district full of surprises has been taking shape over the past few years. Another advantage is the rooftop, open from May to September, and the bar, which transforms into a club in the evenings from Thursday to Saturday!

Skatten means treasure, and it really is! This is one of the few places in Oslo where you can have breakfast, eat for less than 200 NOK, and dance until late! Of course the place is well known and frequented, a real good place where you will have the chance to meet locals very often over a drink or a small dish. On top of that, the place is beautiful and warm, enough to hold you a moment and make you have a good time. Skatten also organizes events. In short, we could spend the day at Skatten.

Fresh products and Turkish specialities, served with a smile! Inside, a nice decoration that changes from the usual kebabs, and prices that really make you want to eat. Simple and healthy traditional Turkish dishes, such as Børek stuffed or not, mixed plates with kebabs and homemade white sauce, rice or bulgur, salad and small raw vegetables, soups, marinated meats. Also several vegetarian proposals, it's great!

This bistro is a place to sit and enjoy a drink or a simple meal, prepared with local and seasonal products. Once or twice a month there is a concert. The setting is friendly and the menu changes daily, so it's hard to get bored! The atmosphere is warm, thanks to the friendly, diligent service (in English, no less), but also to the number of customers: it's best to book early! Although the number of dishes is not very large, the menu is varied: pizzas, charcuterie boards, meats or pasta (cooked al dente), all in fairly generous portions. The selection of wines is also noteworthy. A good place for lovers of Roman cuisine!
