A witchball is what was hung in the windows of country houses in ^18th-century England to ward off evil spirits! Some say the house dates back to the ^15th century! Opened in 2007, this pub in the picturesque village of Lizard is in fact the most southerly in the UK, with a pleasant terrace and small garden. It serves some good, simple dishes, including fish of the day, burgers and even pizzas. There's also a good selection of Cornish beers. One of our favorite local spots.

As you can see, it's an excellent, economical, fast and quality choice for a good meal. Depending on your tastes, you can choose the type of bread, sauce, filling and salad from the menu. Also on the menu is the "Reuben" beef sandwich: very good and, like all sandwiches, hearty too! Vegetarian and vegan options available.

The motto here sets the tone: we love cooking, eating and... gin! Opened in 2001, over the years it has become one of Cardiff's finest restaurants, with the distinctive feature that it is located in... an old underground vault! Delectable, free and daring cuisine. Enjoy basil gnocchi with red bell pepper purée, chicken supreme with gratin à la dauphinoise, half potato, half celery, and finish off with cardamom panna cotta. A wide range of gins: around thirty to choose from!

The vintage decor combines brick, stone and wood, in an old house in the historic center. A treat for the taste buds at an affordable price. It's also a friendly wine bar, serving wines from all over the world. It's conveniently located, just a stone's throw from the theaters.

The inevitable Rick Stein table is here! It's impossible to come to Padstow without hearing about one of England's greatest chefs. The chef has been operating here since 1975! This is where it all began for him. The place is worth its weight in gold, often celebrated as one of the best seafood restaurants in the country. But be warned, prices are accordingly high and, above all, you'll need to book in advance to secure your place and make sure you don't miss out on this gustatory experience. Long after our return from Belfast, Root & Branch and its espresso are still on our minds. At Root & Branch, espresso has no bitterness and is enjoyed like wine. The house classics: the John Wayne, the Frisky Chicken, or, if you like them spicy, the Spicy Uncle Pedro! And good news: in addition to the traditional beef or chicken burgers, there are vegetarian and even vegan choices for those who want them.

Nata & Co is Cardiff's best-known Portuguese bakery! It offers Portuguese pastries, including the famous pastéis de nata, and delicious bread rolls. Pastéis de nata are cream pastries - a kind of pastry flan in round form - with sugar and cinnamon, which can be eaten cold or warm. Many other types of cake are available, such as the delicious Pão de Ló, also known as sponge cake, or the more classic chocolate cakes. A few savoury treats are also available on site.

Takeaway service for excellent fish andchips, the flagship of British fast food. There's no doubt that fans should try this address: excellent street food awaits you here! For fries, Rock & Malt uses only the Maris Piper variety, a British classic! By the way, if you're not nearby during your stay in Cardiff, you can also have an excellent fish and chips delivered via one of the meal delivery apps, and why not try one of their curries!

Cardiff Castle welcomes groups and tourists to enjoy medieval evenings. You can dine as it was in the Middle Ages, surrounded by costumed musicians playing harps and other traditional instruments. The Brasserie Prince is located within the walls of the superb Balmoral. Held by Alain Roux, a chef whose reputation is well established, he offers a marriage of French and English tradition. We recommend the exceptional haggis revisited here with a whiskey sauce and presented with the greatest care, for a culinary experience without equal. The less adventurous will also enjoy a selection that combines the traditions of both countries and highlights the richness of the Scottish soil.

Black Isle Bar is first and foremost a bar, but its pizzas are so delicious that it must also be classified as a restaurant. On the bar side, it offers a very wide range of homemade beers, including those from its own brewery - are you hesitating? Ask for a taste! -, organic wines and whiskies. On the restaurant side, pizzas are cooked over a wood fire, made with organic and local ingredients, and inventive enough to revisit Scottish heritage in Italian sauce (unless it's the other way round).
