Fred Berkmiller runs it with an expert hand, working in close contact with Scottish producers to source ducks, rabbits, chickens and seafood, which he adds with a distinctly Scottish touch. The idea is to exploit the local terroir. The cooking is perfect and there's nothing to complain about.

As its name suggests, this fine address north of downtown is very much French. This is reflected in the menu, which is sure to please all those nostalgic for the country and lovers of good food. Familiar names on the menu: filet de boeuf, salmon with shrimp risotto, cordon bleu, duck breast, filet mignon, rack of lamb, rabbit with prunes or pavé de chevreuil, everything here is reminiscent of France and a tribute to its gastronomy. The interior decor is sober and the plates are well laid out. The service is young and dynamic.

La Garrigue is a little bit of Languedoc sunshine in the Edinburgh sky. Fish soups, cassoulets, bouillabaisses, Pézenas pies and rabbit quail are put on your plate here by Jean-Michel Gauffre, an adored chef who arrived in Scotland more than 20 years ago. Gordon Ramsay himself speaks of it as the best French chef in the country and it must be said that it is a success. The purple walls are decorated with works by a Scottish painter and the chairs and tables are the work of an English artist. The staff is entirely French (except for one Monegasque) and the view of Calton Hill is very pleasant. A beautiful establishment where it is better to book.

The interior is as traditional as can be, with dark wood, bric-a-brac and real ales at the counter. The dishes, on the other hand, are drawn from south of the Channel, and include savoury crêpes, beef bourguignon, escargots, entrecôtes frites... or the so-British minted lamb!

A relaxed bistro atmosphere and French cuisine with a pleasant Welsh twist, in this Côté Brasserie restaurant with impeccable service. You'll come for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There's plenty of choice for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free eaters. French and Welsh flavors are well blended, such as the mushroom and camembert ravioli. An excellent value for money meal. A second restaurant of the same name is located in the city center.

This address is distinguished by its elegant, but not stilted, atmosphere.
