Located in the old town, this restaurant offers specialties exclusively from the Prekmurije region, with the distinctive feature of being entirely vegan. The emphasis here is on dishes that are eaten with a spoon, just like in the old days. The Bograč revisit is a must, served in its traditional copper bucket. Save room for dessert, as Prekmurije's famous cake, gibanica, is on the menu. You can also take it to go and finish on a lighter note with a delicious pumpkin seed oil ice cream!

It's the place to be for breakfast lovers and brunch addicts alike. Eggs in all shapes and sizes: scrambled, Florentine, Benedict, soft-boiled... But also brioches, croissants, bowls of granola, avocado toast, salmon toast, crêpes... Complete the menu with freshly squeezed juices or hot drinks. The entire menu is dedicated to the most important meal of the day! We recommend the Ek Plate for €16.90, which offers a sweet and savory mix for those who can't bring themselves to choose.

This secluded restaurant is a hidden gem. The summer terrace is a green setting with a romantic ambiance accentuated by the view of the plains and the crackling of the traditional stone grill. Tabor offers sea food in the heart of the mountains. With white tablecloths and service of circumstance, you can enjoy scallops, shellfish mixes a la buzara, marbled prawns a la plancha or the catch of the day in a salt crust. The freshness and the mastery of the products are indisputable. Highly recommended.

Due to its location, in the famous Archers' Tower of the no less famous Ljubljana Castle, this restaurant is already a must-see. The menu is well stocked and the service impeccable. As for the dishes, you can try the truffle pasta with minced beef or the salmon filet with sweet potatoes and lime sauce. Don't hesitate to go there at any time of the day to sip one of the many cocktails on the menu, it's the ideal break to stroll around and observe the shades of light on the lake.

The Garden Village Hotel restaurant keeps all its promises. The concept is simple but effective: go from the garden to the plate. The dishes all revolve around the vegetables and fruits of the establishment's vegetable garden. The other ingredients come from recognized local farms. The restaurant looks like a greenhouse and faces the large garden with a swimming pool. Roasted pork chops will be popular at low temperatures for several hours with their honey sauce and aromatic herbs. Quality salads. A real treat.

This little address has all the makings of a big one! Its uncluttered, unassuming façade conceals a wealth of expertise, directly inspired by its neighboring country: Italy! Hand-formed pasta is king, in tagliatelle, orecchiette, gnocchi, fuzi, ravioli... They are enhanced by homemade pestos and sauces, fresh truffles and local shellfish. Adding to the quality of the dishes, there's a lovely outdoor terrace, wine by the glass, a tasty homemade cheesecake for dessert and, above all, a very sweet final bill!

Resolutely chic restaurant on the marina's edge, with a romantic terrace. In terms of cuisine, the Mediterranean has pride of place, with pasta and risottos from the sea, smoked ham, fresh figs and truffle delicacies. It's the ideal place for a high-class meal. In season, musical performances are organized to give the place even more cachet. The selection of Slovenian wines and desserts are not to be missed. More affordable menus are available at lunchtime on weekdays - a real bargain!

Just a stone's throw from the Opera House, this intimate, cosy restaurant boasts a summer terrace. The menu features refined seafood dishes such as scallops on a bed of spicy carrot, fish ceviche, Wellington salmon or poached sea bass with beurre blanc sauce. Prices are extremely affordable, with attentive service and a fine wine list by the glass. A few nuggets are aimed at carnivores, such as the excellent beef tartare and the low-temperature beef cheek. The perfect address for escaping the tourist traps!

Tavarneta specializes in two things: the world of wine and seafood. If you're a fan of both, this is the place for you! The menu is tiny, with an assortment of hot and cold starters and three to four main courses. You'll find oysters, scallops, langoustine, lobster, various fish tartars... Products of exceptional quality and freshness, echoing the very thorough selection of wines, including a few local references.

Right next to the train station, this is Nova Gorica's oldest bar, opened back in 1918 as a post office. To this day, Madonca offers freshly prepared dishes with an emphasis on local producers. Meat and mozzarella from the Vipava valley, cheese from Tolmin and seasonal vegetables. The plates are modern and tasty, with a selection of homemade desserts. There's also a small accommodation offering with three healthy, pleasant rooms.

Clearly an address for "carnivores": we're here in a tavern specializing in extravagant grills and burgers, even if a few fish and vegetarian dishes are on offer. The menu is so extensive that it's hard to choose, but the burger-style black angus steak slices will inspire even the most indecisive, and we applaud the initiative of including photos of the dishes to help us decide. Of course, the beverage selection is just as wide, enough to feast like the old days.

Refined pizzas with fresh ingredients imported from Italy, but also a wide range of seafood dishes with octopus, shellfish, white fish... Its proximity to Motovun on the border means that the menu includes a few dishes with fresh truffles and the use of Istria's famous pasta, pljukanci . There's something for everyone.

Glasswort is a plant that grows in salt marshes and in Škocjan Bay. Right on the edge of this nature reserve is this restaurant specializing in the flavors of the sea. While shellfish, fish and other seafood can be difficult to present aesthetically, that's not a problem here. Each plate rivals in elegance, and the deliberately concise menu allows for this sophistication and refinement. To complete the experience, a sommelier is on hand to expertly match food and wine!

Fans of breakfast or late brunch will find what they're looking for here, with eggs Florentine, Benedict, wraps, club sandwiches... accompanied by granola bowls, waffles and brioche. Hungry for lunch or something to toast the evening? No problem, with a plethora of finger foods on the menu, or for the hungrier, tasty burgers, home fries, butcher's cuts and vegetarian poke bowls.

After a tour of the brewery, it's a must to sit down in the canteen-style dining room, where all the beers brewed on site are available on draught. Can't decide? Take the tasting board to try them all! There's also a range of tasty burgers and other finger foods at very reasonable prices, as well as caramelized ribs and salads for the wisest among you. It's a little paradise for bon vivants and food truck enthusiasts.
