O'SHEAS

French cuisine restaurant
3.2/5
5 reviews

The O'Sheas Hotel's restaurant-pub is wooden and very rustic, with a warm and relaxed atmosphere, and it always attracts many tourists. The place is packed at lunchtime, so it's a good idea not to arrive at the height of the boom. The menu is simple and unpretentious, but has the merit of being inexpensive. And it's the perfect place to try traditional Irish dishes, such as Irish breakfast, Irish stew, pork and leek sausages, meat and Guinness pie...

As soon as you step in the door, you are immediately immersed in the décor with the names of the vineyards hanging on the walls. To take a seat, you have to go down to the basement. Behind the bar, bottles are stacked on top of each other, old French songs resound in the red room, old posters adorn the walls, and the cosy and intimate setting invites you to relax... Here, spicy and fragrant dishes are served that will delight the fine gourmets: hot goat's cheese salad, mussels marinière, charcuterie plate, rack of lamb with honey and whiskey..

HARRY'S BAR AND RESTAURANT

French cuisine restaurant
5/5
1 review

Opened since 1991, Harry's is a very good table, renowned throughout the country, and yet not salera your addition. Donal opened this restaurant in 1991 and works exclusively with products from the peninsula of Inishowen. He chooses his own animals, the cuts himself and keeps the meat in the cold room of the restaurant. The location is modern and comfortable, rather in the style of the nouveux restaurants, which is rare in the province. The lamb, fish, and the two dessert chocolates are recommended.

SEAN OG'S

Bistro and brasserie €€
5/5
1 review

Sean Og's is a very beautiful wooden place, divided into two parts: the pub and the restaurant. The time you wait for your table, you can wait in the next room, where you will have the pleasure of returning after dinner to listen to live music. The kitchen is a little more elaborate than the one that is usually proposed in the pubs, and the service is dynamic and charming. On the weekend, the dining room is turned into a nightclub for the delight of night lovers. A very versatile place!

OSCAR'S

French cuisine restaurant
5/5
1 review

When you see this établissmement from the street, you're saying it would be better to go through it because the addition promises to be salty. But, as in Ireland, we must not rely on appearances. Opened in July 2010, Oscar's Café serves fairly sophisticated dishes based on high quality products (including some vegetarian options), at even lower rates than in most pubs. All in comfortable armchairs arranged along the large windows of this quiet and relaxing place on the background of Art Deco. Free Wi-Fi.

VAUGHAN'S ANCHOR INN

French cuisine restaurant €€
5/5
1 review

The restaurant at Vaughan's Anchor is an excellent restaurant that has been delighting its visitors for over four decades. The food is always fine and sophisticated. On the menu, the chef offers mainly seafood caught off the coast of Clare, but don't worry, the few meat dishes are not to be envied. And the service is always impeccable. Otherwise, the adjoining pub is the ideal place to have an aperitif or a digestive in a good atmosphere. Reservations are recommended in high season.

Open - from 08h45 to 21h30

The owner opened this restaurant in 2008 and has since, every Wednesday at 20 a. m., had jazz concerts. The House is a bistro as you would like to cross more: fresh fish caught off the village, that they smoke themselves, simple and delicious cuisine, homemade pastries for tea time or dessert and a nice wine list (the bottle costs between 20 € and 57 € and glass about 6 €). Count about 10 € lunch and 15 € dinner. Beer garden.

THE WILD GOOSE GRILL

Bistro and brasserie €€
4.6/5
26 reviews
Open - from 17h00 to 21h00

This is a chic and discreet bistro, modern and elegant, and undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Ranelagh village. It is named after the Wild Ge ese, the Irish mercenaries who left the country to join the continental armies between the 16th and 18th centuries. In a romantic setting, you can enjoy elaborate cuisine that awakens the senses and highlights seasonal produce. Wine lovers will be delighted, as the cellar has hundreds of bottles.

DILLINGER'S

Bistro and brasserie €€
4.1/5
26 reviews
Open - from 17h00 to 22h30

Reflecting the neighborhood in which it has found a home, this rather relaxed, family-friendly restaurant got a makeover in 2022. The menu is heterogeneous - nachos, burgers, croque-monsieur, grilled salmon or roasted chicken - and that's just what we like. In this warm setting, young bohemian couples, groups of friends and local residents mingle. We spend a pleasant moment that we would like to prolong. Very good address also for a brunch (from Friday till Sunday) and a beautiful card of cocktails is proposed.

THE SUMMIT

Bistro and brasserie
4.2/5
26 reviews
Open - from 12h00 to 23h30

The Summit is as its name indicates at the Howth summit, just opposite the bus terminal 31. This pub, in the family since 1950, reminds a little of the restaurants found on the slopes in the mountain. The terrace is open by all the time, and winter a good fireplace fire warms the atmosphere. On Saturday evening, the management organises jazz or rock concerts. The house also offers starters and dishes at reasonable prices. A good place to take a break in the hiking and make a pool, watch a game of hurling or start his favorite music on the jukeboxes.

Octopussy's Seafood Tapas is a Spanish inspired fish restaurant, in flavours, presentation and music. Wine from all origins is drunk in a very friendly atmosphere where all generations meet. Tapas (hearty) are served all day long. Special mention for the pil-pil prawns and for the kindness of the team. A really good address. Reservation recommended for meal times.
