In a beautiful Alentejano mountain in the Nossa Senhora do Carmo neighborhood, with a typical mill of the region, here is a rustic and welcoming address. You can eat in a comfortable room, with a fireplace for the winter evenings, tomato soup, dogfish with clams or migas with pork. Excellent sheep cheese. The red wine in a jug from the nearby Cartuxa cellar is of very good quality. The white wine, served chilled on a summer's day, gives a little taste of paradise. One of the best restaurants in Évora, according to the locals.

Located on the large beach of Ferragudo, we have almost our feet in the water. Pleasant setting between palm trees, comfortable armchairs, and sand on the ground. You'd think you'd be in Hawaii or Guadeloupe. During the summer, a band performs live every night and the atmosphere is incredible. The rest of the year, the concerts take place only on Sundays. On the flat side, the cuisine is honourable, without more, with mainly seafood. The only dark spot in this idyllic picture is the service, a little slow and disorganized. Despite everything, it's a good address!

A large and beautiful typical brasserie, on the fish market square. Here you will come first and foremost for the food. Sitting at the bar or around the wooden tables, you will see the churrasco chef (the one who takes care of the grills) fussing and cutting beautiful pieces of octopus, entrecote, salmon. The grilled sardines are a marvel. In the kitchen, people are busy preparing the local specialties: fried eels, eel stew, octopus a lagareiro and arroz de marisco. It's tasty and generous. And on top of that, the owner is very friendly!

Although the building doesn't look like much, the O Sacas restaurant is an excellent regional eatery serving generous seafood dishes. The view of the ocean is exceptional, especially at sunset, as the restaurant is located on the edge of a cliff. Some Lisboans on their way to the Algarve make the detour to have lunch here. Specialties include feijoada de búzios (whelk cassoulet) and dishes of chocos (small cuttlefish). A delicious moment in a relaxed atmosphere.

In this central and lively brewery, it is possible to order a good dish of the day based on meat in particular, but not only. The menu is wide, as is the wine and beer list, as its name indicates. At the counter, in the dining room, or even better on the small terrace, you will be surrounded by regulars who come either to have a drink or a bite to eat or to watch a soccer match, or all three! A very pleasant place to settle down at any time of the day or evening, there is usually always some movement. The service is friendly.

It's located within The Independente hostel. The decor is bohemian and relaxed, with an industrial touch. The place lends itself well to an early evening, just outside the hustle and bustle of Bairro Alto. Located in Colares, very close to Cabo da Roca, this is a restaurant with a good reputation in the region. It's housed in a beautiful mill with a garden and a breathtaking view of the sea. Very, very nice place! In the evening, the place lights up and it's even prettier. Prices are a little high for salads, sandwiches (although a very good burger) and snacks, but the value for money is still decent. Given the quality of the place, it's definitely worth coming here. There's also a brunch menu for those with a sweet tooth.

This restaurant is THE fresh fish specialist in town. Moreover, it remains closed on days when it is difficult to get supplies, which can lead to frustration and disappointment among customers... In addition to the perfectly grilled and seasoned robalo, sargo or linguado, the caldeirada (on order) and the cooked rice emphasize the flavors of the ocean. Located at the bottom of the city, Dom Joaquim restaurant has already received several awards for its delicate and very well executed traditional Alentejano cuisine, including one from Michelin in 2017. In a large room with exposed stonework, you feel like you're in your grandmother's house in this cosy place, with one difference: the cool vintage decor, well thought out, with antique furniture and recycled accessories. Here, we are in a small kingdom of taste and that continues until the plates. Tapas are king, but the American-style burger wins. Good wine list. Pleasant atmosphere.
