A restaurant with an original setting, fitted out inside a cellar, and made up of several small rooms with an intimate atmosphere. The menu plays on consensus, with traditional recipes on one side and more modern dishes on the other. Something to suit all tastes. In bulk, a few suggestions: varied croquetas, soups or salads of local vegetables as a starter; bacalao al pil pil, tuna steak or lamb chops as a main course; and a selection of cheeses followed by a homemade dessert (Torrija con helado de galleta for example) to end the meal.

In a beautiful vaulted ceiling with old stones, this small tapas restaurant in the city centre is worth a visit. The dishes are simple, fresh, seasonal, but very rich and very good for the price displayed, such as smoked salmon and its guacamole or maison-house. Presentation prepared and warm service. In a contemporary bistro, the Mams offers plates to share and inventive, fresh and absolutely delicious dishes. Whether it's to spend a moment between friends or family by sharing copious tapas plates, or couple, accompanied by the tasting menu at noon, the Mams is up to the height. We will obtain, for example, a fondue of gambes toulon el seu suquet (fondue to shrimp stew), a pig costella cruixent amb soybean i mel (crisp pig porkchops in soy and honey) or a parmentier of pop toulon suggestive of pebre vermell of Vera (parmentier octopus à la crème de paprika de la Vera); to get gently to the dessert map, which includes a superb coco plate, pinya, rom i pa of espècies (coconut, pineapple, rum and gingerbread). A varied wine list and a pleasant service.

Le Racó d'en Serrallonga is a small restaurant specialising in artisanale and seasonal mushrooms. You can enjoy some of the traditional tapas plates in a charming village atmosphere: embotit artesà (homemade sausages), pernil dolç (sweet ham) or; (salted), and famous Maison house in dessert with sugar, honey or quince. The location is also a point of Hire for Burricleta, electric assisted bikes equipped with GPS perfectly indicated to discover rural sites, without too much tired!

Intimate and comfortable, this traditional kitchen restaurant housed in an ancient farmhouse a little away from the city has 30 seats and is almost always a full room. Various preparations are tasted, mixing mainly vegetables and game with brasa. The rooms are generous and the service is very nice. A beautiful address in a place as rustic as it is unique, at soft prices for the quality of the products.

In a small and intimate room made of stones and heavy wooden beams, you can taste mainly thick and tasty Argentine meat dishes served by warm and expert Argentinians, but you can also be tempted by very good typical Catalan preparations, perfectly executed, such as arroces and other classic tapas. With its exterior appearance of an old-fashioned tavern, Chef Alvaro's table doesn't let you see anything... And yet, once you enter this old place and are served by the friendly comarero (who speaks French), you're in the bag! Situated in the pretty square of Trascorrales, this traditional restaurant serves excellent market cuisine. The dishes in sauce are simmered over a low fire with good local produce, bought at the local market, and many traditional specialities, such as frixuelos with leeks and prawns or the unmissable fabada. Also delicious fish such as Cudillero hake or fresh squid served in their ink. In season, mushroom dishes are also worth a visit. A charming address!

La Taberna de Ollari is an elegant little restaurant with a contemporary spirit that offers a traditional menu where you can try the local specialities - patatas a la riojana, pochas beans, lamb chops, boletus risotto with parmesan cheese, pears in wine, fresh cheese pie and red fruits, etc. - and also a wide range of other local specialities. In the tavern area, you can share good food in a more informal atmosphere, and you can linger for whoever wants, Rioja obliges, on the many labels that the tavern keep in stock. Good value for money!

A Catalan specialty restaurant opened in 2015 by the young chef Guillem Plana in his hometown. Special mention for the homemade emblems or the fricandó de vedella to be tested in a sober and modern setting.

The Nikolaurenea is a nice little restaurant on the edge of the mill canal, where children usually come to bathe in the summer. The restaurant has a lovely terrace with shady tables overlooking the canal and a typical stone comedor. On the plate side, you will find typical Basque dishes that are simple, but also some generous portions of trout or game with seasonal mushrooms. A frank and rustic cuisine to be accompanied by the very affordable vino de la casa.

Not far from the lighthouse and at the bend in a stone alleyway of the Vila Vella, this friendly restaurant offers a wide variety of tapas and torrades (slice of toasted bread, topped with cold meats, cheese, etc.). For example, try artichokes with gorgonzola, Escala anchovies, grilled cuttlefish, chorizo with cider and esqueixada (cod salad). These can be enjoyed and shared in a picturesque setting, and even better, on its peaceful terrace. Be careful, sometimes you will have to wait to settle down.

Since 1973, El Posito has been an institution in Cambrils. Formerly located in the heart of the fish market, the friendly owner has moved to a quiet square a few years ago. The service room, with its decoration that evokes the subdued and wooded cabin of a boat, is huge and the service team very efficient. One comes to Posito to share some tapas del mar, but also to enjoy mussels and other seafood, and some good fresh fish skilfully prepared. Good wines and reasonable prices.

A sure value of the Parte Vieja to enjoy pintxos at the counter (usually crowded!) or a good txuleta (prime rib) in the restaurant area. Don't hesitate to try the pintxos à la carte, such as the risotto with mushrooms and Idiazábal cheese, and the different brochettes with lamb, chipirons, scallops or shrimps. In the restaurant, the menu gives pride of place to the classics of Basque gastronomy. Good to know: you will find a selection of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes.

Located on the corner of one of the liveliest streets in the Eixample district, Soma offers a simple, warm dining experience in a century-old space decorated with minimalist, retro décor. Here, in addition to breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon, you'll enjoy traditional tapas adapted to the tastes of the Italian chef: vine croquetas , rice cakes au gratin, rigatoni bolognese and a whole range of seasonal recipes! Zabala is one of the city's most renowned restaurants. The premises themselves are surrounded by walls over two centuries old, while the restaurant has been open since 1962. Specializing in cazuelita (stew) and all kinds of dishes related to the slaughter of pork, the address made a name for itself in 1976 with the presentation of one of the province's most emblematic desserts, the Goxua, created by pastry chef Luis López de Sosoaga and still served today at Le Zabala. Excellent wine list and pleasant service room.
