A student bistro, given its location near the University, but open to all. The menu features around a hundred beers, including eight on tap. The bistro also has its own label, La Bouffonne, an amber ale. At the back, the sunny courtyard terrace is lined with a pétanque court, while the table soccer, board games and comic books in the reading corner are ideal for rainy days. A large screen broadcasts Red Devils matches. In terms of décor, the old pharmacy sign, formerly known as an apothecary, is a real eye-catcher.

Every year, the magnificent neoclassical Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège plays host to many exceptional artists: Ruggero Raimondi, Juan Diego Flórez, José Van Dam, José Cura, Elīna Garanča,... Since its creation in 1967, it has offered a program combining great classics and new discoveries, as well as numerous activities and concerts to discover the backstage, the music, learn to sing in workshops, meet with a performance artist, interactive musical presentations... The setting is sumptuous, to say the least.

Here's an authentic place where you can still hear the heartbeat of the old town. Housed in a cul-de-sac, it's not easy to find between the Grand-Place and the Burg. A small, friendly, authentic, old-fashioned café where you can sample over one hundred and thirty varieties of beer, either à la carte or by the board. We won't tell you more to preserve the secret, but the Garre is the name of a Triple served here and only here. The bar is spread over two floors, mostly filled with Bruges locals and a few tourists who've found the address.

Here is a café that has become a must in Saint-Gilles. In this large room formerly dedicated to the events of the local PS, one empties joyfully many glasses in a hubbub worthy of certain Walloon strikes. Joking aside, the dynamic team that runs the place regularly organises exhibitions, openings, concerts and DJ sets that give the place a soul of its own. At market time, it's really lively on Sundays. Nice terrace and cheap food. Come on, mate, give us a pint!

The superb old "English" pharmacy on the Mont des Arts has been transformed into a cocktail bar with a beautiful effect. The wood panelling, the shelves, the herbal and potion jars are still there, as well as the counter. It is the medication that has changed. No Belgian beers here, only cocktails of all kinds, from the classics to some very strange ones that seem to have come straight out of an alchemist's old book! Nice initiative, but a note that can quickly go up in the towers.

Very nice to watch soccer games and sip a good brown Guiness in this typical Irish pub. To make matters worse, it offers concerts every Friday and Saturday night (covers by a local band...). All the sporting events are broadcasted on the 12 screens and followed by numerous regulars. The pub offers 9 types of draught beers and more than 50 whiskeys. Ideal to taste good Belgian and Irish craft beers and don't forget to taste the delicious Irish dishes including the "fabulous Irish Breakfast"

The Porte Noire's medieval vaulted cellars were once used as a 16th-century convent kitchen. Now one of the very best havens for beer and whisky lovers, there's a wide selection, including a dozen on draught. The emphasis is on small-scale craft beers rather than their mass-market commercial counterparts. Live music every other Thursday night from 10pm (except in summer) and other jam sessions. The bar also celebrates St. Patrick's Day, dear to the Irish and all those who love their beverages.

Le Basilic is a café-theater located in Brussels. It serves Belgian, European and French cuisine. Customer reviews are mixed, with some appreciating the delicious food and warm welcome from the staff, while others criticize the show and the food. Value for money is considered good. The restaurant is located beneath the basilica, in a unique and beautiful setting. Some customers recommend it for its originality and warm atmosphere. However, others have been disappointed by the quality of the food and service. Advance reservations are recommended, as some dates may be fully booked.

Today, it's the smallest café in town, but also the oldest: it dates back to the 18th century! In this pretty house of gnomes, you'll even discover an old pillory (torture post) where people were nailed in the old days, and you'll better understand the expression "to nail to the pillory"... It's not always easy to find your way around on Friday and Saturday evenings, as the bar is very popular with the locals. But it does boast a lovely, well-lit terrace for longer summer nights.

In the first half of the 19th century, the rich industrialists of Ghent subsidised the construction of a new luxury opera house to proudly display their fortune. The result is still astonishing in the 21st century: worthy of Italian opera houses, in this opera house with its horseshoe-shaped hall, red velvet predominates, chandeliers glitter on concert evenings, gilding and stucco on the walls. The programming is interesting.

The wine bar (Enoteca) is the natural extension of the restaurant (Osteria) and grocery store (Negozio). For four decades, this has been the most unusual meeting place in the vicinity of the Grand Place. A death chamber, dressed all in black, as it should be, with real coffins serving as tables. This bar, far from being morbid, was first frequented by the youth of Brussels, then by tourists who have made this very special place one of their favourite haunts. People come here to drink a beer or famous house cocktails such as the Virgin's Elixir or the Demon's Sperm. To be done once, for the "pleasure" of drinking from a skull.

Fifty beers to choose from and a selection of small snacks. The restaurant is not the strongest point of the house, but one rarely goes there just to eat! La Lunette opened its doors in 1853. Its name does not refer to any eye problem... or stomach problem, but to a one-litre glass designed for beer (although the less adventurous can fill it with mineral water). TAM TAM

Tam-Tam is a tiki bar with a tropical atmosphere, and with exotic, caliente or sexotic cocktails some would say. Because in this long list, most of the cocktails on the menu are forbidden to under 18s: the Maousse Costo (very loaded!) or the Erotiques for example. There are also the Déjantés du Tam-Tam and in those, we like the Nana (rum and pineapple juice, served in a fresh pineapple). As a good tiki, the Tam-Tam serves a lot of compositions based on good rum and offers a neat bamboo decoration with tropical plants, to warm up in winter.

L’H2O

Club

The H 2 O is the discotheque not to be missed if you pass the French-Belgian border! For years Muriel and his daughter Rylia have been looking after you to spend unforgettable nights in a cosmopolitan place with two halls where the watchwords are diversity and openness to all trends. On Friday the "white room" greets electro-ready with Fred Hush and Beat Ben, while the "hand room" is designed for pure techno addicts, mixed with Ghost and Danny C. both rooms are still crowded. Saturday is more the fashion with a more mature clientele where everything seems to be allowed. The "hand room" is worn on the electro and the house of Chris with the players while the "white room" develops a happier style with the funky-house sounds of Johan and Cimaï. Always at the tip of musical trends, in an atmosphere of madness midway between the gentle decadence and chic class, with a motivated staff, the H 2 O remains one of the pillars of a successful night of clubbing around Lille (barely 20 min). In addition to the evenings with DJ's residents, many international DJ's are regularly invited to the most original themes. A significant and significant feature all year round: a drink of alcohol purchased, a drink of alcohol offered! Only negative aspect: a little too dark in the "hand room" can rebuter some.

L’ESCAPE

Club

Open only on Saturday, the club that will celebrate its four years this year has been searching for a long time between changes and changes of DJ dj. However, for almost a year now, this place seems to have truly found its way and position itself as one of the border clubs with which we have to rely. Sometimes the same way as H 2 O (perhaps its main handicap), the club lets the night-owls wiggle on funky, house and electro rhythmic fantasies of the two halls of the establishment. The servers and waitresses ultras, in agreement with the clientele, put the atmosphere right, accompanied by dancers who came to present their? choreography. Positive point: The decoration, refurbished at the beginning of the year, is absolutely magnificent: class and sterilized, it fluctuates between blue, white and purple for a clinquante atmosphere. To convince the clients of the beauty of his club, the boss is still abusing too much of the light games for such a place.
