NOÏ
Read moreNoï has taken up residence in an old carpenter's workshop. The address isn't easy to find: GPS mode on mandatory (yellow house with a big "Noï" sign, that should help). The setting is typical and original. But in fine weather, one of the most beautiful terraces in the area is open to diners. On the plate, classic chicken, pork, beef or shellfish dishes are enhanced by local curries, ginger, sweet and sour or sautéed vegetables, and served efficiently. We warn the novice with little pictograms that sting more and more.

LE SHANGHAÏ
Read moreHere, no Asian kitsch decorations. The atmosphere is muffled and the setting current. Shanghai (open since 1963) offers refined dishes. We let ourselves be tempted by the lobster sauté flavoured with ginger or by the matchstick beef sautéed with onions, house specialties. The outstanding wine list offers more than 40,000 bottles in a ripening cellar located under a church. We don't say whether the wine is blessed there, but the hygrometric and temperature conditions reach the heavens! Each dish is thus matched to the wine that suits it best.

SAKURA
Read moreThe Japanese restaurant par excellence! A few steps from the Kinepolis cinema. Before or after a session, there are ideas to dig, whether you are in two or in groups. Here, in any case, you'll be given a kimono to better immerse yourself in the atmosphere. For five years now the Sakura has opened its doors, and the least we can say is that this establishment has attracted a loyal clientele. A restaurant where you can get to the Japanese grill, the teppanyaki. To the sakura, remember that everything that is cooked is in your eyes, in the midst of great flames. But do not worry, no risk of seeing your order skeleton. The chef knows his job!
BAAN CHANN
Read moreAt the helm of this elegant little corridor restaurant is Tom Pokomé. Based in Belgium for a number of years, he studied royal Thai cuisine in Bangkok, in the purest respect for tradition. There's no à la carte menu here! You'll be surprised by the chef, who has done his shopping on the day. It's impossible to predict what's going to be on your plate, but every dish we tried was of the utmost finesse. Just mention your food allergies when booking (essential, Baan Chann is small).
ANJU
Read moreThe latest project from Michelin-starred chef Sang-Hoon Degeimbre, but one that's close to his heart as it draws on his roots: Korea. Enter this bright, vitamin-packed den, filled with frescoes evoking the land of the morning calm, and start with a few shareable starters like japchae (beef tartar with sesame) or pajeons (kimchi and vegetable pancakes). The main course focuses on banchans, a series of side dishes (kimchi, shiso leaf, spinach, rice, etc.) based around a single ingredient (meat or non-meat), which you can mix and match to discover all the flavors. A real favorite!
KUN THUN

Try the divine soup of shrimp gyozas with lots of enigmatic aromatic herbs, marinated cucumbers with fried chicory, then very fine sweet potato noodles and sautéed minced pork, a delight. A refreshing change from Cantonese or Thai specialties. Very mild Ba bao tea. Affordable, tasty and practical to order to take away before catching your train.
KAMO

LE SAMOURAI
Read moreThe reputation of this Belgian restaurant, located 20 km from Lille, makes it easy to up the landernau of Asian cuisine Lille. Grills are cooked before us by three proud chefs as "i" in their traditional attire. This is a real "show" moment. And since we are talking about traditional dress, the clientele itself is dressed in kimono. You're warned, but let's go to table. Taking scampis and coquilles shells roasted in garlic and then salmon with vegetables is a good idea. The whole meal is accompanied by Japanese beer or good Japanese sake, not confused with what the uncultivated call Chinese sake (strong digestive, whose real name is the mei kieu read). A restaurant that really changes from the ordinary, where you always go back with pleasure.
INDOCHINE

But the main reason for coming is to take a culinary trip on board a train that travels through Indochina, in the colonial era. Comfortably installed in wagons, we taste the best of Vietnam. Very good value for money, friendly atmosphere and a la carte, a traditional Vietnamese cuisine or more inventive which makes the happiness of gourmets.
