DU YUAN GE
Read moreA Chinese restaurant that sounds funny, but it's a good thing! True to its reputation, Belgium offers us monstrous plates for a nice price. The dishes are above the average, it's even the end. The happy family menu will delight all guests. Five services! The seafood fondue is a real success. The service is discreet. The frame, uh… Chinese! The best Asian address in the immediate vicinity of Armentières.
CHOU SANDO
Read moreHave you ever heard of the sando, the Japanese sandwich that's cut thickly to reveal its many layers of ingredients? It's the specialty of this little canteen, which is always busy at lunchtime. With beef, Japanese-style fried chicken, tempura shrimp or veg, they're particularly tasty and a great way to settle the stomach during a lunch break. Enjoy them on the terrace, inside, admiring the pretty fresco decorating the room, or take them away. Not in the mood for sandwiches? Their other specialty is donburi.
SAO THAI CUISINE
Read moreSao in the kitchen and Beer in the dining room offer to discover the world of Thai cuisine, here deliciously implemented. Thai culinary culture is extremely rich and Sao adds a subtle dose of modernity. With delicacy and generosity, he likes to offer an experience with dishes placed in the centre of the table, as the tradition of sharing at the table is alive and well in Thailand. Spicy recipes with more delicate flavours, all trends are represented. A must try is the Yam Neua, grilled beef with mint and lime.
OLD BOY
Read moreAll the flavors of Asia can be found at Old Boy and the menu alone is an invitation to travel. You take a seat around the long counter or around a few tables and off you go: stopovers in Taipei (beef bao) or Manila (kinilaw) for starters, in Canton (wontons) or Saigon (molted crab) for the main course and then in Bangkok (pavlova with coconut and exotic fruits, flavored with galangal and lemon grass) for dessert. The dishes can be eaten alone or shared between guests. With a neat wine list and a fast and smiling service, we leave there fulfilled!
NEMO 33 - THAI 33
Read moreA great success for this restaurant still firmly rooted in the Nemo33 diving center. The inspired decor evokes the world of diving, and the view over the depths of this deep spring-water pool. But you don't have to be a diver to appreciate the Asian flavors on the menu (Thailand, Vietnam, China). At lunchtime, the clientele is mainly business, while in the evening, the subdued lighting invites romance. Beautiful rooms for groups and a magnificent green terrace are among the top 5 most attractive in Brussels.
KAIJU
Read moreLocated on the first floor of the Jam Hotel, Kaiju is a temple to Asian street-food, from Japan to Thailand. The interior resembles a restaurant you might find in Tokyo or Taiwan. The principle? You order several dishes, made to be shared, and enjoy a culinary voyage: won ton soup, Korean-style fried chicken, beef tataki... For an original touch, there are fusion specialties such as kimchi-style chicory. The bar swings excellent cocktails and, alongside Asahi and Tsing Tao, serves microbrewery beers.
CAFFÉ BATAVIA
Read moreThis establishment takes you straight to the Indonesian archipelago, a rarity in Brussels! This jungle-green cocoon immediately sets the mood. Choose from Javanese dishes (nasi goreng, mie ayam...), Pan-Asian delights (baos, fluffy pancakes, Korean-style chicken) and, in the evening, dishes to share. It's also an opportunity to try coffees from small Indonesian producers or curiosities like wedang, a hot drink made from ginger, lemongrass and spices. The 100% female team is adorable.

YI CHAN
Read moreYen Pham took over the restaurant that was his parents' and gave it a real facelift. In this street between the Bourse and Saint-Géry, there is no shortage of Asian establishments but Yen has managed to stand out by proposing a fine Chinese-Vietnamese cuisine in a contemporary setting. You'll love the different baos as starters (with foie gras, glazed pork, scampi...) before daring to try a chicken leg with beans and chilli. But the trademark of Yin Chan is its original cocktails, whose ingredients evoke the Orient.
BOMBAY BBQ
Read moreLet yourself be transported to an urban India where street-food stalls invade the sidewalks. The journey begins as soon as you enter: a two-storey restaurant where the first floor seems like a suspended balcony, all drenched in red and pink lights, filled with plants and various objects from over there (doors, tins, posters). On the menu: comforting dishes to share (butter chicken, lamb chutney...), a long series of vegetarian dishes (papadi chaat, butter paneer...), cocktails, and service as attentive as at a Michelin-starred restaurant.
MO MO
Read moreMadame Lhamo, a Tibetan, has named her little restaurant after the steamed ravioli, the momo... made of wheat flour. Next to that, you can have a soup (with beef or momo, precisely). Lhamo's cuisine is copious, but it also allows you to discover different flavours and the lunch formula is a good opportunity to have a look. Everything is prepared freshly and the ingredients are made according to the principles of sustainable food. And to keep with the ethics, the employees are former Tibetan political prisoners: we say bravo!

LITTLE SIAM
Read moreThe kingdom of Siam, the ancient name of Thailand, is featured in this small restaurant, which is always full (remember to make reservations). The owner is Thai and infuses an authentic taste into the plates, which are also very copious and affordable, while the Flemish owner is friendly. It didn't take us long to turn this into a canteen, as the people of Bruges have decided. The Tom Yam soup with shrimps and the Khung maksaman with chicken and yellow curry were delicious. We also recommend the Thai assortment as a starter to discover new flavors.
PHAYA THAI
Read moreOpen since December 2019, this Thai restaurant is already sold out every weekend evening in its first month. And with good reason: the dishes are exquisite, the setting attractive, the prices reasonable, the location central. This Thai family offers dishes faithful to the country's subtle culinary tradition. For starters, the Tom Yam Kung, a sweet-and-sour soup with lemongrass-infused shrimp, was perfectly balanced. For the main course, the steamed duck with vegetables, Thai basil, red curry pineapple and coconut milk was simply divine.
