This restaurant is a newcomer to the city's culinary scene within the Koepel complex, a magnificent former prison. Housed in the former administrative buildings, it leads to the sublime dome. This is where prisoners began their stay, and this is where you can eat inspired, refined bistro-style cuisine featuring seasonal produce and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. It's a really interesting experience and, weather permitting, the pleasant terrace overlooking the former prison won't be a punishment.

Here is an address as we like them, both simple and charming. 't Witte Paard (the white horse) is ideally located on the Dam square. It is a friendly and historic eetcafé (brasserie with a Dutch twist) that offers traditional cuisine in a warm setting. The rich history of this place is reflected in the many details that will catch your eye. The real secret of the place is the superb garden, a real green setting for a moment out of time. In the winter, the establishment also has an incredible charm.

It was on a lovely June evening that we discovered this chain (also known in Amsterdam). The place, on a charming square, is very pleasant. You can eat on the terrace overlooking the historic statue of Tsar Peter the Great. The menu offers succulent pizzas with a thin, crispy crust, just as you'd expect. Beforehand, you'll want to try the antipasti, which are excellent. For dessert, we opted for a Sgroppino, a cocktail made with lemon ice, limoncello, prosecco and vodka. A real delight.

Nice and cosy brasserie in the lively Korte Putstraat. You can eat a varied cuisine, soups, salads and also meat and fish dishes in a wooded setting. Beautiful terrace for the beautiful days. It is an address as we like them in the Netherlands, without pretention but with a beautiful menu and a warm welcome. All the cuisines of the world with Asian dishes but also Italian. The menu also includes excellent desserts and quality cocktails. The wooded setting is elegant and the terrace pleasant.

A friendly address ideal for enjoying breakfast, lunch or high tea. High tea includes several carefully selected sandwiches, quiches, scones and an assortment of homemade cakes and a wide selection of teas. The picnic is a lovely basket that you could take to a park or to the dunes of Scheveningen. It includes delicious sandwiches, fresh fruit, chocolate, quiches, etc., but also plates, etc. A great idea for a romantic getaway.

This concept has taken the southern Netherlands by storm, with numerous establishments in the main towns. You can eat tapas in a well-kept setting, served by friendly staff. We like the concept for a pleasant evening out with the family, for example, as the little ones will be delighted by the decor and the meal.

You're probably familiar with the French architect Daniel Marot, who worked in the service of William III. Luwte means a place without wind, and while this promise may not be fulfilled every day on the restaurant's terrace, it's still well worth the trip. This is a quality address, offering a menu inspired by French and Italian cuisine with Asian touches. The decor is as romantic and bohemian as you could wish for. It's very pleasant to sit on the banquette with its soft cushions. The wine list is well thought-out but not cheap. An address to remember, well located and close to Anne Frank's house.

To reach this newly opened public space, take the ferry to the north bank of the Ij just behind the cinémathèque. Housed in a modern building, this large space with its minimalist decor invites discovery. It's a coworking space where people meet to work, but also to drink coffee, savor a pastry, have a drink and enjoy an evening meal in elegant surroundings. The menu features burgers at lunchtime and small dishes to share in the evening. A great place to meet people.

Established on the Markt since 1909, Reitz is one of the country's oldest French fry shops still in operation. For more than 110 years, people have been flocking to this little counter to order a cone of crispy French fries, topped with one of the many homemade sauces: a pure delight, greasy and delicious, and an undeniable success (expect to have to queue!). The menu is quite extensive: meatballs, meats, croquettes... everything you need to accompany your fries. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.

Olympiada is a quality Greek restaurant, very well located in the heart of the old town, on the Visbrug. This restaurant has been run by the Tsatsos family for several decades and has a solid reputation that goes far beyond the city of Dordrecht. The menu offers traditional cuisine and a family atmosphere. The service is fast and the dishes are hearty. Olympiada was voted best Greek restaurant in Dordrecht and the region and this is a guarantee of quality. The terrace is very inviting on sunny days

Pleasant restaurant in Scheveningen serving excellent pizzas; according to some, the best in The Hague. The setting is simple and warm, and the service welcoming and patient. Be warned: this is more an address for going out with friends than for a romantic evening. The team prides itself on being truly Italian as a guarantee of quality, and they even add Naples. The pizzas are crisp and tasty, and the pasta dishes are not to be outdone.

Here's a typical example of one of Zandvoort's beach restaurants: this one is Australian-inspired. The à la carte cuisine celebrates shared dining, dishes to be shared with guests for a warm meal. The atmosphere is just as woodsy inside as it is outside, with guests enjoying the warm weather on huge white sofas. It's the perfect place to spend a day on the beach. From here, you can set off for a surf or SUP lesson. Two hours later, the snack will be all the better.

Oficina is a sleekly designed restaurant offering modern, bistronomic cuisine. Here we find a touch of the hygge concept dear to Scandinavian countries, where cosy places make you want to stay and bask. Here, produce is sourced directly from local farms. The Japanese tea is carefully sourced. The menu changes every week, but always respects seasonal produce. The plates are carefully prepared, and the service very welcoming. Note the small, pleasant terrace, which is crowded on sunny days.

Botanica is the restaurant of Hotel Voco. You come here to discover an exceptional setting, like a green oasis in the heart of the city's historic district. The decor, very green, designer and relaxing, is a success. The long bar is a real eye-catcher. The menu features over 80% plant-based dishes, in line with current concerns. All suppliers are local. At lunchtime, the menu features salads and mixed sandwiches. In the evening, the spirit is shared dining, with vegetables in the spotlight! Botanica is an address we've come to love.

A great address that sums up the atmosphere and spirit of Zandvoort. If you can come here and enjoy the interesting menu rich in tasty dishes like burgers and salads at lunchtime and dishes to share and world cuisine. But the secret of this place is that it is a spot for surfers and yogis. So you can book your classes and go for yoga on the beach at the crack of dawn. If you're lucky, the weather will be nice and you'll have to watch out for the sun. If not you can warm up with a hot chocolate.

The menu is as plant-based and gluten-free as possible, with tasty dishes for the whole family. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with the possibility of borrowing board games and playing ping-pong. You can also book surfing lessons. If the weather's not so kind, you can sit around the fire indoors. We particularly like the pretty terrace with its exotic parasols. It's sure to be a hot summer.
