Accommodation is very expensive in the Netherlands and even more so in Amsterdam. A large part of your budget will be spent on it. It is difficult to sleep for less than 115 € in a double room.

All prices are inclusive of tax. A large number of hotels add a tourist tax per night to their prices.

The hotel industry has improved a lot these last years and the design hostels with all comfort exist, we tested them! Cities such as The Hague, Rotterdam and Eindhoven offer interesting prices on weekends when the business clientele has left the area.

To be booked

The Netherlands and Amsterdam in particular have the wind in their sails. We do not recommend to come on an adventure without a night's stay, as you might pay a high price for it! Make reservations especially during the major holidays and even more so on the evening of the King's Day.

Accommodation on the Wadden Islands is particularly popular on long weekends in spring and summer, so plan your stay well in advance.

What's very local

Stayokay is the banner under which youth hostels throughout the country are united. It is a guarantee of quality with often nice and welcoming places.

The Student Hotel is not, contrary to its name, only for students, on the contrary. This Dutch chain mixes student accommodation and hotel rooms with all the comforts and often quite fun. Places to visit without breaking the bank.

For food lovers

Dutch breakfasts are complete and varied. Dairy products, breads, cheese, cold cuts and fruits, you will be spoilt for choice and often won't need to eat lunch!

Smokers

The hotels are also non-smoking.

Tourist traps

Some addresses in the Red Light District are of uncertain comfort and sometimes even of dubious probity. Rest assured, we have an eye for it.
