It is possible to visit the gardens around the restaurant and an old building, a house for passing guests which was part of a villa confiscated from the Kim family at the end of the 19th century. This building was moved here in 1958. The restaurant is quite expensive but copious, especially since the menus include a succession of dishes that one rarely has the opportunity to taste, such as the sinseollo.

Even if the building that houses this restaurant is not the most engaging, don't be fooled by it, as the skewers you'll taste there are exquisite. In barbecue country, this establishment is appreciated because it offers mutton (as opposed to pork and beef). Moreover, the cooking method is quite playful. For over 70 years, Hadongkwan has been faithful to his recipe for gomtang (beef meat and bone soup),one of the main soups in Korean cuisine. This restaurant is a real institution in the city. It is often crowded and it is better to go there for lunch than for dinner! We enjoy the local speciality of the jjimdalk 찜닭. Although this dish is found all over Korea, it is certainly the best here. These are chicken with vegetables and sweet potato starch noodles, all gently and deliciously braised in soy sauce (which gives them a touch of caramelization). A real treat highly recommended!

Bukchon Son Mandu is renowned for its Mandu. These traditional Korean ravioli are a delight for the taste buds and here, our favorites are the deep-fried Mandu (튀김 만두), with their perfect crispy crust. It's a small store and there's sometimes a queue, as their ravioli are famous all over the capital! But the line moves quickly, so don't let the number of people fool you. You can also order your meal to go if you don't want to wait.

This restaurant is the den of green tea. The district is full of them, so why deprive yourself of them! No matter what dish you choose, it will be enhanced with the famous infusion plant. Beef patties, rice and even grilled pork can be eaten with tea. The cold naengmyeon noodles are especially surprising and delicious.
