Read moreThe presence of a fort above the village of Achalgarh dates back to the Paramara dynasty that ruled Rajasthan from the 9th to the 14th century. The structure still visible dates from the mid-15th century, but not much of it remains. The two entrance gates, Hanuman Pol and Champa Pol, are still standing. The creamy white temple, located within the fort and seemingly hugging the hilltop, is dedicated to Shiva. Other Jain temples, in less good condition, can also be seen, including one dating from 1513.
