DEEG PALACE
Pink sandstone palace adorned with Bengali-roofed pavilions overlooking a small lake and a vast Mughal-style garden with 500 fountains
The elegant pink sandstone palace, embellished with Bengali-roofed pavilions, overlooks a small lake and a vast Mughal-style garden where 500 fountains (out of order) and basins overlook the darbar, still richly decorated with paintings, hunting trophies and antique furniture. Other buildings, either closed or under construction, line the garden. Adorned with white marble pavilions, they evoke the glory days of the small capital. The well-preserved private rooms still contain the maharajahs' furniture, including a huge bed measuring over 8 m²!
