Le Carré takes its name from its magnificent terrace (square, of course!) which overlooks the lake and offers you a panoramic view of all the surroundings. In addition to this, we especially appreciate the concept of this place which unites on one side the coffee and tea room area throughout the day, on the other side the brasserie open for lunch and dinner and, just below, the cocktail bar. The brewery's dishes are Belgian-inspired (Flemish carbonnade, fried mussels or waffles), with good beers too. To top it all off, the welcome is charming.

Switzerland's cheese star is widely honoured in this restaurant. As its name suggests, an establishment dedicated to Fribourg specialities and Gruyère products. In a room decorated in a typical mountain style, meat and especially cheese dishes are served here. The local fondues are considered to be the best in Geneva. The various fondue dishes on offer range from the half and half fondue (a mixture of Gruyère cheese and Fribourg vacherin) to the goat's cheese fondue.

One of the best fondues in Geneva! This café seems to have an ancient history, because on its sign, you can read, "1824 - on foot and on horseback". The cheese dishes are exquisite: malakoffs, pan-fried tommes vaudoises, and of course the famous Gruyère AOC cheese fondue. As good as it is, the fondue does not satisfy all palates, which is why other suggestions are proposed: the cream of pumpkin of the country, the fillet of féra du lac to be tasted on a terrace. All in all, the Swiss gastronomic panoply to try before leaving Geneva.

If you're not exploring Scandinavia, you'll get a taste of it through its gastronomy and the establishment's setting, reminiscent of Swedish bistros. You're sure to enjoy some excellent specialties. Äta means "to eat" in Swedish, and you'll love it! You'll discover what smørrebrød "buttered bread" is: slices of rye bread topped with herring. Connoisseurs will appreciate the many variations of salmon gravlax.

After shopping in Balexert, why not enjoy a quiet stop in this restaurant next to the Suitehotel? There are tasty rösti prepared in twelve different ways: mushrooms and cream, saveloy and onions, bacon, tomatoes, veal sausage or Zurich style. There are also other classics, such as the traditional macaroni as the farmer would prepare it on his mountain pasture, the raclette as much as you like or by the portion and of course the fondue. The prices are very reasonable. Simple setting but authentic cuisine.

This Italian cafe restaurant is a haven for teachers and bankers. At night, the tone rises with the release of the shows. The atmosphere is that of a luxurious and discreet brasserie. One always tastes there the marvellous rosemary ravioli, a vitello tonnato, a saltimbocca Romana or a grilled sirloin of beef tagliatta, alla rucola, olivo e lmone... As for desserts, we love the Sicilian cassata, the tirami-sù withamaretto, the fruit mille-feuille... The welcome remains warm even late after the show. One of the good addresses of the district!

Since 2007, Heidi and Fabrice Bischoff have welcomed us to one of the town's oldest residences, dating back to 1445! In a cozy setting with antique furniture, wood panelling and a small oriel window, you can savour meticulously prepared local cuisine with a French accent (the chef, Mr. Bischoff, is of French-speaking origin). You'll feel right at home! In fine weather, the terrace and its pergola are a real plus where you can enjoy delicious seasonal dishes. Specialties include game meats. Very friendly service.

The Walliser Keller, located a little way off the main tourist street of the town, offers a wide range of Swiss specialities. The restaurant has a vaulted ceiling and rustic decor, and the traditional fondue and raclette dishes are the main attraction. You will be spoilt for choice. In season, you can enjoy a pretty and quiet terrace. Warm and smiling service.

A small, wood-panelled Vaudois village bistro with a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome. The cuisine is excellent, with products from local suppliers that vary according to the season and the chef's inspiration. The presentation is superb with its play of colors, a small work of art. The cooking is excellent, and the sauces reveal enchanting, delicious flavors. Authentic gastronomy, so popular for its excellent dishes that reservations are recommended!

A unique view of the lake and the Alps from this restaurant-café, not to be missed. Your visit to the museum should end with a break on the top floor for lunch or a simple break. The large glass-walled dining room, decorated with a number of Olympic trophies, allows you to stay in the same Olympic atmosphere, with your eyes lost in the splendor of the panorama. The menu is unpretentious, offering fish (we're finally spared the perch fillets), burgers and salads. An unmissable break.

Established since 2005 in Kreis 4, where trendy new restaurants are springing up like mushrooms, the Eichhörnli restaurant offers well-executed Swiss cuisine with French-Italian influences. Here, flavors come together with great delicacy. Dishes are generous and seasonal. It doesn't take long to feel at home in this cozy little space so popular with Zurich locals! Specialties include the famous "Café de Paris" entrecôte and veal liver with onions and sage, accompanied by the famous röstis. Reservations recommended.
