Here's a delicious find! Tucked away in an alleyway in the old town, you'll discover this confidential spot where five tables are quickly snapped up at dinnertime. The young and talented chef Jan prepares traditional cuisine with a modern twist, a wealth of flavors and a great respect for produce and the seasons. Dishes are presented with great care. Restaurant and wine bar (mainly organic), this chic establishment offers a superb view of Fribourg's old town and the Pre-Alps from the veranda. The menu is simple but effective, with different dishes prepared each day according to the season. Having a meal here is also meaningful, since half the team is made up of people in difficulty or on the road to reintegration. They are fully supervised by catering professionals, forming a very friendly team.

Not to be missed! This grotto a few kilometers from Ascona (just over 5 minutes by car) is well worth a visit. In a rustic setting with wooden tables and stone walls, you can enjoy authentic Ticino cuisine: cold cuts, local cheeses and sausages, polenta cooked over an open fire (a must try!), vitello tonnato and meats (rabbit served every Sunday). Everything is tasty and smells of generous family cooking. Curious diners will appreciate the dialect menu, and the French-speaking staff are as friendly as can be.

Just under 10 minutes by car from the heights of Locarno, here's a little grotto just the way we like it. The setting is both rustic and elegant, the terrace with its pergola and climbing vine is charming, and the interior with its wooden tables, stone walls and imposing fireplace is warm and welcoming. The Trübli restaurant, near Neumarkt, serves tasty traditional cuisine to around 40 diners in a cosy atmosphere. In 2019, chef Alexander Bindig took over this ^18th-century inn. In the evening, you can enjoy the surprise menu, which changes with the seasons. Vegetarian option available. Excellent wine list with over a hundred references and a fine selection of German bottles. Tours of the cellar are available. Attractive terrace and attentive service. Reservations recommended.

The Hotel Zur Sonne on the corner of Gotthardstrasse and Kirchgasse is an imposing chalet that is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and typical of the resort. The hotel provides both accommodation, with cosy rooms, and food. Its traditional restaurant welcomes you in a fully wooded room or on the terrace, and proposes typical dishes of the region where fondue has of course its place. An excellent address and a welcome stopover for lunch halfway through your journey.

The Schützenmatt restaurant, inaugurated in 2016 in partnership with the Swiss Red Cross, offers work to refugees in order to train them and help them integrate into working life. The establishment is overseen by a talented young chef, Sören Wirth, who produces tasty cuisine that has earned a reputation among food critics. This neighborhood brasserie, conveniently located in the center of Altdorf, boasts a lovely shaded terrace and excellent menus. Impeccable service and a warm welcome.

You'll find Lengmatta Schraemli's, a family-run hotel-restaurant, close to Frauenkirch station. This handsome establishment is housed in a former farmhouse, with a tasteful wooden decor and authentic ambience. The restaurant serves excellent Swiss specialities such as cheese and meat fondues, as well as classics like veal à la zurichoise and röstis. You can also enjoy the magnificent sunny terrace, the view over the valley and the warm welcome of the owners.

Why Kiosk? Because where this lakeside restaurant used to be, there used to be a kiosk! In the picturesque port of Riesbach, nestled in Zurich's largest urban park, you can lunch or dine here à la bonne franquette: salads and grilled meats in summer, pizzas, focaccias, fresh pastas, but also typical grilled sausages with French fries or more classic dishes of the day. The large, colorful terrace, where the sun dances on the pearly waters of the lake, is very pleasant at any time of day. A cheerful atmosphere and efficient service.
