PEN-BRON BEACH

Natural site to discover

1 review

With regard to the disabled, Pen-Bron is a specialised hospital. The "Disabled" or allows to approach, even in summer, and, on the hospital side, there is a ramp to access the beach in the chair. Of course, in order to practise naturism, we need to move away from the centre, but it is a solution for those who live or go on holiday in Loire Atlantic.

LAC DE PALADRU

1 review

Walk to the lake of Paladru or blue lake for its crystal clear waters. Shaped during the ice age by the powerful Rhone glacier, it is 6 km long and 1.2 km wide. It is the fifth largest natural lake in France and is located at an altitude of 500 m. Its water temperature is cool and ideal for swimming in the summer. It owes part of its fame to the important archaeological discoveries made on the site of Colletière. An exceptional and fragile space, the lake of Paladru offers a whole range of activities for relaxation and leisure. When natural and historical heritage are mixed, when you can refresh yourself and have fun, you must take advantage of it!

LAKE DE BONLIEU

Natural site to discover
3.7/5
3 reviews

Are you looking for a typical Jura landscape, between the Pic de l'Aigle and the plateau of Champagnole? This glacial lake, set in a cirque with wooded slopes, offers sublime landscapes. With a surface area of 22 hectares (if peat bogs are taken into account), it is very deep. Its "black" waters, which intrigue and even worry some, spread over 700 metres long and 300 metres wide. It is very rich in whitefish, Arctic char, roaches, perch and other fish. Around 1170, Thibert de Montmorot founded a charterhouse closed in 1791 and converted it into a weapons factory. The western shoreline is made up of peat bogs. On the east bank, a path allows you to go for a walk and discover various landscapes: undergrowth, wet meadows, peat bogs, reeds, water lilies, rushes... The most courageous will walk to a lookout with a bird's eye view of the lake. The laziest will drive to the belvedere of La Ronde and its exceptional panorama: Pic de l'Aigle, Bonlieu, Ilay and Maclu lakes. Attention! The western shoreline is not trafficable.

Mika is at the head of this establishment. It offers you to discover the Maritime maritime facade: at its side, you will be able to attend the sale of fish at the auction station, to walk over the fishing port and the shipyards, and crapahuter on the ramparts in the sound of historical anecdotes. Officially authorized by the port authorities, he can mount on the boats and allow you to be «directly with the workers of the seas». Note: Mika will introduce you to its artisan partners (brasserie, canning), which may offer you a tasting of their products!

Under the palace, in the centre of the village, a Renaissance house, there are underground cellars. They housed an oil mill, cisterns, silos, wine vats and a chapel. Don't expect to follow long underground passages, everything is very small. But this place is mysterious and unique enough for an audio-guided tour. Especially on rainy days! There is also a documentary on the restoration and a game book for children.

It is a little the natural curiosity N ° 1 of the Regional Natural Park and even the Lot department. And for the reason: of its 42 hectares, the marsh of Bonnefont has very little common characteristics, like its peaty soil or its vast roselière. Situated at the limit of the Causse de Gramat, it has a varied fauna and flora, which is pleasant to come to contemplate. MONTANUGA SITE

This natural site in the near outskirts of the city is the opportunity for families to relax by playing adventurers, without risk, because the site is well marked, with various routes more or less disgraded. The site was once the site of Montaigu Castle, now disappeared. The route of Compostelle between Troyes and Auxerre also borrowed the path of the castle. Here, children are now taking pleasure in arbating the steep trails, picking up strands through wood, asking themselves in the openings… The most despicable will go out to ATV, with a possible departure from the ancient church of Laines-aux-Bois and a loop by Souligny. The place is perfect for picnics and ample enough to multiply walks but the evening comes, it is much less popular, and very isolated…
