WATER TOWER - CASTLE OF ART
Read moreThe water tower was built in 1865 to collect the waters of the Auron, supervised by engineer Bourdaloue. A competition was organized to select the architect of the imposing fountain located in: it is Albert Tissandier's project - bricks and stones, and paying tribute to the classical architecture of the early eighteenth century - which was chosen. As for the sculpted decoration, it is the work of the Berrichon archeologist and sculptor Jules Dumoutet. Unaffected since 1940, inscribed in the additional inventory of Historic Monuments in 1975, the eau d 'eau was completely redesigned by the City of Bourges in 1999, which made it a place dedicated to the diffusion of plastic arts. The ground floor of 220 m 2, with its two concentric spreads separated by 16 columns and surrounded by 14 alveoli, allows a unique presentation of the works, whether painted, carved, engraved, drawn, projected or hammered. A place of discovery, exchanges and meetings, the water tower hosts carefully selected exhibitions. A successful conversion.
LES ALLEES JEAN-JAURES
Read moreAs early as 1743, the artery, which leaves the fountain of the Fountain to end the railway line, fell into désuétude. The avenue Jean-Jaurès was the ideal place for a walk. It's the ideal place for a walk. Launched in 2004, its redevelopment advances by segment and involves the projects of architect Designer Designer. After long work, which is very binding on the merchants and neighbours, a first tranche was opened in October 2010. According to a global plan to rédistribution traffic routes, the decrease in motor traffic with the adoption of semi-communal transit opens new spaces to passers-by. Bicycle paths, green spaces and pedestrian areas are favoured. In the central part, the parking lot is now underground and paid. Kiosks, benches and water jets give a very southern side of the Ramblas, while planted plants will not have to grow too much at the risk of breaking the perpective. Ancient nettle has been preserved and already, we see the great ambition of the future Champs-Elysées nimois: bring the people back to this historic axis.

THE VICTOR HUGO FOUNTAIN
Read moreEven though the work may still be debated in the city - some will say that it swears in the landscape - the Victor Hugo fountain is still in place and animates Victor Hugo's place of its many jets of water, summer. Realized in 1990 by artist Patrick Saytour, also known for its decorative and utilitarian objects, the fountain was completely restored and consolidated in 2012. An astonishing contemporary creation, a kind of theatrical parody of art, to you to form your own opinion on this fountain that continues to divide!

ALEXANDER STATION
Read moreLocated in the th district, on the edge of the north-west districts, this former mill became a marshalling yard and was abandoned. Yet she hid an elegant structure, which is attributed to Gustave Eiffel. Supported by beautifully restored metal structures, this iron and glass structure retains its late th century character from pre-industrial times. In Marseilles, in the 80 s, a large campaign for the rehabilitation of former reporting buildings began. The Alexandre Station has benefited, such as the Auction, the Docks, La Wasteland Belle de Mai, the Silo Silo, etc. A safeguard in clean sites that continues with the positive will of the founder Sylvie Caulet, who is now upset by the bad image that the north quarters inspire. But Station Alexandre is also the world of outsourced culture, the business district nearby, trade, restoration, after work, etc. Enjoy contemporary facilities, this multi-tiered activity cluster welcomes employees of the company, management but also all curious visitors, small or large committees in restaurants (Bistrot Alexandre Il Barocco) or the bar bar (L'elf Café). All three have a classic homely soul, a modern post-modern charm, which often affects guests.
SPRING WAREHOUSES
Read moreEdifiés by architects Popinot and All between 1908 and 1910, Spring warehouses testify to the city's industrial activity at the beginning of the th century. The concrete structure is designed by François Hennebique, while Ceramist Alexander Bigot focuses on the exterior decoration of the building. Located in 1905 on the Haussmann Boulevard in Paris, the Spring Store Company opens an annex to Clichy which will serve as a shop and storage warehouse. The left part of the building was added in 1923 by the architects Demoisson and Wybo. With its glass and metal structure, the building is a fine example of Art-Deco architecture and is easily recognized. Note that the local tourist office proposes to know more about this building.

Read morePierre Patout (1879-1965), a French architect, close to the international style inspired himself in his constructions of the liners he had built, influencing the liner style of a generation. This huge studio residence is an interesting example. At the angle of two streets, its heavy and frank openings on the sky thanks to its glass workshops exposes the last floor that overcomes the architecture of its volumes in the light. The house is part of the 1930 s course proposed by the city of Boulogne-Billancourt.

With its large horizontal bay overlooking an artist's workshop, and its cement pergola that extends to the entrance, André Lurçat executes a work that announces his participation in the architecture section of the Autumn salon. The villa was designed in 1927 and remains a significant trace of the architect's impetuosity. Boulogne-Billancourt includes it in its course of the 1930 s.
