A trompe l'oeil mural evokes the neighborhood of La Boca, at the mouth of the Riachuelo River
The International Festival of Argentine Tango has placed the city of Tarbes at the heart of the discipline. In 2011, the city hall wanted to seal this link between the city and the dance. In the small street Saint-Pierre, a mural in trompe l'oeil, 31 by 4.20 meters evokes the neighborhood of La Boca, at the mouth of the river Riachuelo. The Caminito, small path, refers to the poor district of Buenos Aires, as well as a famous tango composed in 1926. This fresco by Alain Laborde tells the story of Argentina, from soccer to ceibo flowers, from tangueros to the national bird of the country.
