Located on the famous "Côte Nord" of Monbazillac, 5 km from Bergerac and the Dordogne, Château Le Fagé is a winery that has belonged to the GERAUD GERARDIN family for 8 generations. The estate offers a range of benchmark Bergerac wines. Château Le Fagé also regularly organizes tasting evenings during the summer season, with some exciting surprises planned for 2023.

The Château de Corbiac is a very ancient vineyard of 16.5 ha, perched on the ridge of the hillside of Péchalarming. Born in a family related to Cyrano de Bergerac, Antoine de Corbiac joined her mother Theresa on the exploitation. It represents the seventeenth generation on the field. This graduate in economic science and a third cycle in economic intelligence, has worked abroad in the distribution of wines and spirits and then in the new information technologies. In the field it combines qualitative know-how with a reasonable wine growing and traditional winemaking. It produces wines that are highly valued and award-winning by professionals and highly appreciated by lovers of sinking. 

It is the third generation of winegrowers who have taken over this property from 53 hectares, including 41 hectares of white vines. The range of wines offered by Marc Gouy includes red, rosé and dry Bergerac and a speciality, Monbazillac, from the south-south-west-facing clay-limestone slopes. The winemaking and vinification are carried out according to traditional methods, while employing some modern techniques.

As in Le Bugue, Sarlat or Paris, Julien de Savignac offers Périgueux a selection of the best Bergerac wines: château de Tiregand, château de la Jaubertie, château la Tour des Gendres, etc. Of course, the other great vineyards have their place there without forgetting that Julien de Savignac is also the owner of Clos l'Envège in Monbazillac. Whatever the address, you won't lack advice or know-how.

This property alone sums up a century of history of winegrowers who have humbly passed on the torch to each other, without ever tarnishing the image of this famous house. Are offered for tasting (among others): a dry white sauvignon bergerac, a monbazillac cuvée Prestige or aged in oak barrels. Possibility to visit the estate, museum and old vaulted cellars all year round and at weekends by appointment. The owner is Jean-Jacques Dailliat.

The history of the Salamander distillery begins as often with a passion, an original who decides not to do like everyone. While the Gatinel family lives in the 1960 s of agriculture and cows, Raymond, caught by the distillation to which he saw, bought a small still on chassis and left it, offering his services as "travelling evaporators". In 1970, Raymond distilling its first production as a professional. The Salamandre distillery is one of the few in the Dordogne to distil to the old. You can discover the secrets of these wonderful stills and the sweet scent of these fruit alcohols.

Jonathan Clark's Fab Périgord is a concept of a brewery, arts and crafts store, and gîtes. Jonathan, born in England, grew up in the Ribéracois region. He created his craft brewery at the Auberge du Grand Bost. His amber "Double entendre" (Double like the local forest, double nationality and double fermentation) is served at the nearby restaurant Le lavoir: to be tasted with the Perigord sauerkraut! Jonathan opens the doors for visits and workshops. Rose manages the gîtes and offers creative recycling workshops.

David and Romain chose to set their brewery on the edge of a creek. These beer enthusiasts use malted barley from Belgium, hops from Alsace or European countries. Then, they apply their own recipes to make four beers: two lager beers and two amber ones. They can be locally found, in the market of Thiviers every Saturday or in producer markets.

Thierry Baudry's family property is located on the slopes of Pomport and Gageac-et-Rouillac. It has 32 hectares of vines, of which 20 hectares are white and 12 hectares are red. The farm is run according to agrobiological methods, i.e. without the use of chemical fertilizers, synthetic organic pesticides and weed killers. Harvesting is exclusively manual. The commented walk on Wednesday in July and August is organised in the vineyards on the slopes of Pomport. The visit of about 1h30 is followed by a tasting in the cellar. Gilles Gérault discovered the rosette and fell in love with it. This cellar master first rented out the Château du Rooy before buying back the buildings and the red and rosé Bergerac plots of land, while keeping the Pécharmant plots for rent. His trick: the production of rosette, a confidential wine that is mellow, fruity and light at the same time. Laetitia, his wife was a wine analysis technician at the CIVRB and she joined the estate in 2010. Recently they tried their hand at dry white wines in barrels. Sale at the estate or online.

Anita and Benoît Gérard produce biodynamic wines. They are famous for their Monbazillac PDO (Le Bois Blanc) but they work well with their red wines (L'Empyrée, Le petit Cluzeau and Le château Cluzeau) and their dry whites. Some rosés (cabernet, sauvignon, merlot) are very pleasant in summer. Etincelle is a sparkling white wine with a fine and regular foam.

These two entrepreneurs successfully run their business for night-time Godrinkgeurs, from 10pm to 4am and even 6am at weekends: they distribute aperitifs, sandwiches and burgers in the Périgueux area, to quench hunger and thirst late at night. Very practical in times of health restrictions! Orders can also be collected from the drive-through shop in Périgueux. They are also developing partnerships with nightclubs and various clubs and associations. They have set up a loyalty program.

The family estate is located on the northern slopes of Bergerac, in three blocks. Production is divided between white and red. The range of wines is divided between Bergerac red, dry and rosé and a speciality called the Rosette. This wine, hand-picked, vinified and matured in oak barrels, received the gold medal at the Concours Régional de Paris.

Château Belingard is one of the jewels of the French vineyard. It's a prestigious location, from which view is wonderful. In 1980, Laurent de Bosredon, supporter of reasoned culture, took over his father by working on this clay-limestone terroir to give it its former glory. The equipment of the cellar uses the highest technology but also tradition. 65% of the sale is made for export. The production is divided between red and white dry wines of Bergerac as well as liqueur wines of Montbazillac. The owners are Sylvie and Laurent de Bosredon.

Germain Joly has swapped his life as a sommelier for that of a wine merchant, which have some similarities. He therefore knows his universe perfectly, the sure values and latest discoveries. He a lots of things to say on the wine universe and the wine-growing regions, with a particular affection for the South, Bordeaux, the Côtes-du-Rhône... and Périgord, of course. More than 300 references can be found in his reserves, small owners to discover, champagnes, whiskies, alcohols, not to mention 150 Belgian and local beers (Le Père L'Amer from Thiviers, Les Deux Ours from Nontron, Périgord Beers from St Saud-Lacoussière, BAM from Marsac-sur-L'Isle). Regulars appreciate the friendly atmosphere, the opportunities to taste, for example Beaujolais charcuterie evening, and the destocking sequences at friendly prices. Germain regularly participates in local events, particularly those of the Pôle métiers d'art.

Claudine and Claude Caillard give special attention to harvesting and wine-making, but also to work on the vine to obtain a quality raw material. Jean-Paul Lachaud left the Agora to install his cellar at the entrance of the shopping mall and served as a locomotive to revitalize this Hyper U commercial space. The site is pleasant and accessible, with great wines in the window and champagnes. The selection will seek wines from all French terroirs, for example from the Luberon and Ventouxet appellations, and some foreign productions. Lovers of homemade beers know that the boss always has a finding to offer. Tastings are organised regularly to promote original wines.

On a hill in the countryside around the town of Cyrano, this estate is cultivated organically. Its wine gets all its character from its hillside location and from its special subsoil, whose mother rock, called "Tran", is a limestone dating from the Mesozoic era and rich in iron. The estate produces a dry red wine labelled AOC and AOP Pécharmant, which falls into the category of still wine. It has been planted since 1975 on 6 hectares with black grape varieties identical to those of the Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon as well as Merlot.

The name of the estate refers to a dungeon, a remnant of a fortress that was one of the most powerful in Aquitaine during the Hundred Years War. The vineyard, facing south, stretches along the hillside. It gives a well-balanced red Bergerac, with a nose dominated by red fruits, with touches of hazelnut and vanilla. It is best drunk young, still on its fruit. The white wines are born from old grape varieties (among others, Semillon, Muscadelle) and can withstand aging.

Cyril Perez has also opened his cellar to sell to customers on the drive-through principle; to be delivered, or to be picked up in his pub in the rue Condé, in Périgueux. He brings the right advice, backed by his good knowledge of beers, whiskies (including Japanese), rums, ciders and spirits. The craft beers come from Périgord as well as from other parts of the world, Lebanon, Australia or Sri Lanka, Poland. The place offers tastings to exchange around the counter.

This store has taken for clothes a beautiful medieval residence in Old Bergerac and one is systematically attracted by the architecture of front. Inside, Michäel and François offer a wide range of wines from all walks of life: Bergerac, Bordeaux, Loire, Rhône, Languedoc and even abroad. There is also a nice old vintages. New address for this very well stocked wholesaler / wine merchant: Bergerac wines, in all three colours, Pécharmant and Monbazillac are in the spotlight, but a few other appellations (Alsace, Burgundy among others) and grands crus are enthroned on the shelves. Eric Cubertafon embarked on the adventure of La Cave in Ricou, in this small village where tourists do not come by chance. Abandoned for decades, the vines of Château Les Farcies were reborn in 2000, thanks to Serge and Betty Dubard. In the heart of Pécharmant, the standard of Bergerac, on the slopes of the Bergeracois, their wine has regained its letters of nobility and has risen to the top of this appellation. Today, their project is to pass on to future generations a healthy and protected living place by participating in the development and conservation of this unique terroir. And if the English saved the French wine? The huge sympathy capital of Richard Doughty can of course contribute to it but his wines, Saussignac at the head, will convince you quite quickly. Tillings, manual harvests, 17 hectares in organic, gentle vinifications, and everything contributes to evacuating any form of chemical violence in the reflection and the control of the wines. The Audoux family perpetuates the wine-making know-how and produces a saussignac and a bergerac moelleux matured in oak barrels which are worth the detour, without losing sight of the other productions of this property: a complete range of wines from dry white to sparkling and rosé and a range of award-winning red wines. Less than 10 km from Bergerac and worth seeing, this cellar-shop includes about one hundred members representing 870-hectare vineyards of AOC red Bergerac, AOC rosé Bergerac, AOC dry white Bergerac, Côtes de Bergerac soft and sweet AOC, Saussignac AOC, Monbazillac AOC and Vin de Pays du Périgord Rouge, Rosé and Sec. The wines are sold in bottle or in bib. It is therefore certain that you will find the wine that suits you the most. There are many accessories for wine and local products. The guided tasting tour of the cellars is every Friday in July and August from 10am. It lasts about one hour. If you wish, you can be delivered to your home anywhere in metropolitan France.

When you request for the favourites of Noël Couderc at Maison des Vins au Pré de Cordy, you will notice that he has virtually no Bergerac wines. To him, and as for many wine merchants around, these wines are too known, not surprising and it is often difficult to find those of good quality. Noël Couderc has nevertheless shelf of well-selected bottles from Pecharmant or the Bergerac coasts. As a result, he gives you the opportunity to discover on other wine regions of Southwest France and elsewhere.

It was the story of an Italian family that landed in the southwest in 1925. In 1956, Primo de Conti and his brother Albert took over the family farm. Michelle, Primo's wife, also a few horses. The passion of horses, pushes his son Luc to settle in the Gendres in the early 1980 s to create a club poney… Echec. So he turns to viticulture. In the few hectares of old vines he adds new plots but he knows nothing or almost anything to the vine. For more than 10 years, Patricia Lemoine and Romain Delplanche have settled in Blis-et-Born, on the road to Limeyrat to brew beer in the purest tradition. The cereals used for the production of their beers are produced on the farm. The beers come from a low fermentation and are neither filtered, nor pasteurized. No gasification either, a small amount of sugar is added before bottling. The beer subsequently ferments in the bottle. All range (blonde, white, amber, brown, black) is marked 5 degrees and labeled organic and a sixth beer, triple grains (buckwheat and wheat, barley malt). In summer, the brewery organizes events: theater evening, circus show, concert, etc.

Mitch O'Sullivan lived in eight countries before arriving in France and taking over La Cave d'Eymet after many studies of oenology and learning about viticulture at Château La Tour Blanche in Sauternes. This friendly Irish woman, who has had a devouring passion for French wines and especially natural, organic and biodynamic wines from the South West France and Languedoc-Roussillon for over 20 years, really knows what she's talking about. The friendly Ambert couple is now at the helm of this superb establishment founded in 1937. Regulars and tourists alike flock here to sample over 2,000 different French wines, including organic and biodynamic wines, spirits (whisky, rum) and beers from around the world. A wide range of delicatessen products completes the offer: honey, jam, terrines, preserves... It is above all a place of joy and experience for amateurs. You will find rare products, an incredible choice and above all an irreproachable welcome.

The Cave Larégnère of Michel Baraton in Creysse has more than 2,500 references, at all prices. All the wines are tasted and carefully chosen and the emphasis is on organic wines. The staff, which has very good advice, informs customers about the guard, the temperature of service, the dishes to be accompanied, etc. A wine bar area is reserved for tasting which can be accompanied by excellent cheeses or charcuterie platters carefully selected. It is a friendly moment which allows you to discover or rediscover grape varieties accompanied by an expert. If wine is highlighted, you can also find spirits, beers and champagne. The cellar owes its reputation to the richness of its land, to the diversity of its known names, to the quality of its wines and also to respect for traditions. Founded in 2005 after the amalgamation of the cellars of Saint-Vivien and Carsac de Gurson, it now consists of a hundred wine growers spread over 500 hectares of vineyards. The 20th anniversary of the brewery, it's time to celebrate! The most beautiful age... All the beers of La Lutine are brewed in Limeuil with malts from the surrounding brewing countries, enriched with hops from France and Germany. Six products await you: White, Amber, Blonde, Brown, Spirulina, Nut and Christmas beers. All beers are available in 33 cl and 75 cl. Barrels of 30 litres are also available. Founded in 1900, the castle's reputation exceeded borders, especially for its wine sweet wine. Pierre Vignet opts for a rational culture to better preserve vines and environment: manual harvest, organic fertilizers, organic biodégradables and vinification.

Since 1939, the Gurson vineyard cellar, located halfway between Saint-Emilion and Bergerac, has been producing wines marketed today under the Grappe de Gurson label. It covers 410 hectares of vineyards, located on clay-limestone soils that produce dry and sweet whites, rosé wines and very robust reds. The large cellar offers the Tradition and Prestige ranges with the Montravel, Côtes-de-Bergerac and Bergerac appellations, as well as sparkling wines.

Nicole Maury was not destined for viticulture, she was a podiatrist. But when her father died, there was no way she could deconstruct what her ancestors had taken years to build: a quality vineyard. She takes oenology classes and divides her time between the property and her practice. The 5 hectares, first worked in sustainable agriculture and then in organic farming in 2014, produce feminine wines: two red Bergerac wines - one of which bears the name of Nicole's father, Jules - and a sweet and fruity white wine from the Rosette appellation. And in the Maury family, we must not forget Hervé, Nicole's husband, a cattle farmer who followed the same path as his wife on organic production

In 1999, Christine Borgers left her native Belgium to buy this property. Since then, she has done her utmost to ensure that her vines produce this much appreciated nectar. With 10 hectares of vines, she offers the three colours, red, dry white, rosé and especially an excellent Monbazillac vinified in oak barrels offering a very good quality-price ratio. On a calm and clear ground at the end of the rows of vines, five camping-car sites are at your disposal for the time of a stage. Numerous events at the château in season.

Make no mistake: "Ailleurs-la-gnac" is not a village in Périgord Noir, but an excellent beer brewed by a micro-brewery in Rouffignac. Sold at local markets as far afield as Périgueux, it's a great incentive to prepare locavore aperitifs (and bring back authentic sparkling souvenirs - there's something for everyone). Established since 2016 in the small village of Coly, this microbrewery has what it takes to seduce fans of hopped bubbles. From the great classics to "craft beers" made from more traditional raw materials, not forgetting fruity beers ideal for summer aperitifs, Chavagn' excels.
