PORT
Read moreHow not to succumb to the charm of Gjogv? The houses are spread out along the basket-shaped shore surrounded by sloping cliffs covered with short grass overlooking the sea. But where is the port hidden? It is located in a fault of the cliff. A very deep gorge which gave its name to the village, and which presents an inclined plane in cement allowing to winch the boats in case of bad weather. Eminently photogenic, with its colorful boats, this place offers a shady perspective towards the sea. A must-see image of the Faroe Islands.
ATLANTIC AIRWAYS
Read moreAtlantic Airways is the airline of the Faroe Islands. Since 1988, it serves the airport of Vágar from Copenhagen. Since then, other routes have been opened (from Billund or Aalborg), or to Iceland, Great Britain (especially Scotland) or Norway. It mainly operates between the islands by helicopter (including the transfer from the airport to Torshavn, if you have booked). The prices are very encouraging and the flights over the islands are beautiful on a clear day. A must do!
