The atmosphere is there: creaking floorboards, the smell of tar or fish, dimmed lights... Indeed, fresh fish is the main ingredient of the daily menu. A narrow alley separates the café from the century-old Úti á Gjógv warehouse, renovated and transformed into a venue for conferences, meetings, parties... As you leave the café, you'll see an area of sloping stone paving, corresponding to the old salt cod drying grounds!

Read moreThe night rendezvous of Tórshavn's youth (over 25 years old) in this discotheque, the largest in the archipelago. Luux is located in the city center. It is spread over two floors and has two bars. About ten tables are open for reservation every Saturday night. It is better to think of reserving! The building doesn't look like much but it's the place to party until the end of the night. At the turntables, DJs electrify the dancefloor but there are also concerts of local bands. Atmosphere guaranteed!

Since the end of Prohibition in the early 1990s, the clubs have continued to exist despite the opening of bars and restaurants and the state commerce governing the sale of alcohol. In general, you can only get in if you are a member, some will accept if someone you know is in the club. Others, like the Havnar Klubbi, are more easily accessible... to tourists!

Café Friða is warm even if it is far from the more southern reception!

You can easily identify it by its ultra-contemporary facade of steel plates with floral motifs, which is beautiful at night because it is backlit. Here, delicious cappuccinos, tight coffees and very affordable snacks are served, but above all tasty desserts. On the floors, four conference rooms that can accommodate up to 60 people each.
