A former oyster bar when the fish market was in full swing in the square, this fish and seafood restaurant was founded in 1910. It is housed in a beautiful 18th century house decorated with large mirrors and murals executed in 1880 by a certain Valdemar Andersen. A timelessly chic address where you can enjoy oysters and shellfish, fish or lobster soup, sole or monkfish, smoked salmon... in a refined setting. Beautiful cellar and impeccable service on white tablecloths lit by candles. A romantic address.

It is a long time ago that the "Little Pharmacy" of 1720 was converted into a café-restaurant whose charm is partly due to the original preserved decor. In the old days, people used to frequent its basement room, which was barely lit by small leaded-tile windows and venerable quinquets. Among the illustrious regulars was Andersen, who came here every day in 1854. He is said to have written The Ugly Duckling while tasting his herring with capers! For of course, the cuisine is typically Danish and prepared with fish.

A very pleasant microbrewery located a stone's throw from the Latin Quarter, Rådhuspladsen Square, in a beautiful 17th century building. A new concept was born there: "the new kitchen of Danish beer". Let's hear it! The pleasure of taste around a locally brewed beer and traditional gastronomy. We start by visiting the facilities and then we sit down to eat. On the menu: oysters, grilled sausages, matured beef... Vegetarians are not forgotten, a menu is specially concocted for them. To be tasted: a seasonal cuisine nicely prepared!

Perhaps the cheapest sandwiches in Copenhagen: in fact, there is a long queue in front of this small store close to Huset/Use-it. There is a choice of about twenty classic or vegetarian sandwiches prepared every day in a flash. The concept was born 20 years ago after a stay in Italy to feast on paninis. The two friends then thought: why not create fresh, good and homemade sandwiches in Denmark? A second address was born in Torvegade 29 in the district of Christiana, if you wanted to eat on the go!

Here you will find, without comparison, the most beautiful and spacious terrace in Copenhagen. Stylish contemporary architecture. The interior is also pleasing with its huge windows that let the light in. Every day, the food is simple but very good.

Housed in the Workers' Museum, this "old-fashioned" café has been in existence since 1892 and offers excellent smørrebrød, beautifully presented as a buffet, as well as Danish specialties such as the traditional rhubarb crumble with whipped cream(rabarberkage). It's even better when washed down with a local beer from the Braunstein brewery! All in a fin de siècle atmosphere. When the weather's fine, a smørrebrød van, which was very popular in the city in the 1920s and 1930s, is back in service. Take a seat at the carpenters' tables!

In a residential street overlooking Østerbrogade, this butcher's shop also serves as a restaurant. The focus is on red meat: tournedos, entrecôte, rib steak and more. The meat is 100% Danish and organic. In the catering department, each piece of beef is served with seasonal vegetables and a creamy sauce. For your information, Gourmandiet was recognized in 2015 as one of the 5 best butchers in the world by WallStreet Journal. Quality and flavor for a takeaway treat, in a store whose decor couldn't be more original.

Kate is an address that vegans and vegetarians adore. It's a warmly-colored, no-frills, funky restaurant. Seated on stools, you can enjoy dishes from just about anywhere, as long as they're spicy: a veritable culinary voyage around the plant world, from the Caribbean to Africa via Indonesia. Outside, a lovely terrace lets you soak up the sunshine and enjoy a leisurely meal. To eat in or take away. Organic beers and natural wines are also available. On a small budget, you'll love it.

The clientele of the "little" Oscar café is a charming mix of students, residents of this somewhat upscale neighborhood and tourists passing through. But all of them like to settle down in the room with a very bistro decor for a lunch break. Various sandwiches, smørrebrød, mixed salads, burgers with crispy fries... Everyone will find something to suit their appetite. Possibility to eat on the spot or to take away. A tiny terrace is set up on the sidewalk, the street can be busy but the address is lively and friendly.

On the even side of Nyhavn, a restaurant in the great Danish tradition: fricadelle, grilled meats and, of course, fish are served, in homage to the port of Gilleleje, 50 kilometers away in northern Seeland. We come for the atmosphere, the typical setting of port towns and sailors' haunts. The service is impeccable (white tablecloths and cloth napkins) and the smørrebrød delicious. All this is accompanied by a wide choice of beers on tap. A great time and authenticity for more than decent value.

Among the addresses on the main street where you can eat in Dragør, in the direction of the old port, you'll find Blink. A very simple café, but full of charm (just like the village) and above all particularly friendly. Sandwiches, salads and hearty dishes are served without fuss by friendly staff. Super brunch, copious and tasty: scrambled eggs, bacon, chorizo, Parma ham, sausage, Greek yoghurt with honey, melon, pineapple, crêpe, croissant and rye bread. It's even better if you sit on the super-terrace under large parasols!

A pretty, charming café, ideally located on the edge of the harbor, where you can take full advantage of port life from the terrace, which is very pleasant on sunny days. The menu features simple, family-style seafood dishes: herring prepared according to a variety of recipes, salmon and sole from the Strait, shrimps, fish and chips... Two beautiful dining rooms set in large verandas, entirely glazed like greenhouses, offer a bright, convivial space, all the more appreciable when a shower approaches or the wind invites itself to your table!

Cocks & Cows Tivoli is a corner set up in the gourmet patch of the Tivoli Garden. Grab a combo of burgers and a beer to rest after a roller coaster ride! The address is collective with 14 other food stands, so table reservations are not possible; but there are always tables available in the dining room, including on the lovely terrace where you can admire the beautiful view during your meal. There are two other addresses in Copenhagen: Gammel Strand and Skt Peders.

Located just outside the Halles, Souls' credo is burgers (the buns are incredible!) and mushrooms, gourmet, original and accompanied by delicious cocktails. This restaurant was created by two friends of Australian origin. Their credo is " eat like you give a fork ". From lunch break to late afternoon, you eat healthy, organic, local and seasonal food. You're doing your body and the planet a world of good. In fact, the Danes have clearly understood this, hence the numerous awards they've won since the place opened. A great recognition for Souls!

Pico Pizza: as the name of the address suggests, we come here to nibble mini pizzas. In green, gluten-free or very gourmet versions. Pizzas, but not only. On the menu, there are seasonal salads, olive or almond snacks, tiramisu and... a few cocktails that have become a must wherever you sit, to the great pleasure of all fans! You are here in Nørrebro but you will find another address in Vesterbro. And not to spoil anything, the room is superb and the terrace great, day and night!

A great place to come for a weekday feast of wholemeal platters, in classic or vegan versions. To whet your appetite: sourdough and rye bread, comté, salami and bacon, scrambled eggs with hazelnut butter, a mix of cereals with herb ranch sauce, pickled cucumber and fresh fruit, granola skyr and buttermilk waffle with mascarpone cream... You'll leave feeling full and delighted, because everything is fresh, extra-fresh. You can also opt for smørrebrød. Weekend brunch. The house is also popular for its cocktails!

This traditional Breton walk (buckwheat cakes and pancakes) in the center of the Latin quarter, with terrace, is an institution. Not secluded, but nice. Service and map in French.

Mcjoy's is the Scottish spirit of a pub opened in Nyhavn for sailors from the Highlands. The spirit is so Scottish. Nevertheless, the menu offers a choice that mixes the local (trilogy of marinated herrings) with the British, now international: fish and chips (excellent and copious too!). We liked the cosy terrace, the wind-protected courtyard in the second row and the bar with taps galore on the mezzanine floor. Come for a bite to eat, a drink or a lively evening of music.

What a beautiful wooden architecture Paafuglen is! A structure entirely glazed like a greenhouse with, inside, a fairground decoration, very suitable for the atmosphere of Tivoli, and which projects us back to our childhood first by the eyes and then by the flavors. The menu here is full of well-known classics that are served quickly, so you can enjoy your dinner in peace before the show starts or after enjoying the park's attractions. Smørrebrød, salmon, pie, schnitzel, lemon meringue pie.

Bronx offers an alternative to Danish cuisine with a varied menu of burgers, nachos and salads, to eat in or take away. Ideally located next to the city hall and Tivoli. The room is friendly with its wooden boxes with two, four or eight seats! Even if the fast food is not the best - it must be said that after several days at CPH, the palate becomes difficult and selective! -, the plates are more than generous. So, the quality-price ratio remains very good!

A menu of hearty, tasty salads and sandwiches. The brunch menu features organic produce, healthy cuisine and vegan options. The croissants are as crisp as you could wish for.
