La Serena is a city brimming with tourist activities. The recently formed Consejo Comunal de Turismo is working to promote tourism in the region. Members of the council, drawn from local universities, tourism associations and gremios, met to discuss their ideas and projects. The museum presents a very interesting collection of diaguitas objects (pottery in particular). Deserve a visit.
