CRUZ DEL TERCER MILENIO

The first thing that will mark your arrival in Coquimbo is the Third Millennium Cross. Perched on the Cerro El Vigía, it is 93 meters high. It is meant to celebrate the 2,000 years since the birth of Christ, as well as the entry of the common man into a new millennium. Its construction has the merit of having been studied: three symmetrical columns that symbolize the Holy Trinity. In the lower part, 10 columns for the Amendments; a staircase of 2,000 steps for each year of Christ; 12 pillars to represent the Apostles!
