Things to see and do Meuse

On the occasion of the centenary of the First World War, the City and the Tin Canton set up a new tourism circuit. It links the various places that have been notable in the course of this war, which began with bombing and invasion of the city by German troops as early as August 1914. Opposite the Citadelle, the former guardhouse, abandoned for years, now houses a museum. Opening in 2023, it traces the career of Michel Dupré, the Mayenne draughtsman who was swept up in the war in 1914, thanks to his many drawings, but also to Pierre Brancher, a photographer in the same regiment. A faithful reconstruction with an exceptional collection of objects that belonged to the Poilus. A 3-in-1 venue, the museum also includes a bar/restaurant and a store.
