Built in 1848, he has a magnificent Scherrer painting dating back to 1886, which represents the departure of Joan d'Arc from the city of Vaucouleurs. Six tapestries of Aubusson trace the Gospel. On the place de l'Hôtel-de-Ville stands a bronze statue of heroine on horseback. It was originally installed in Algiers and then withdrawn during the events of 1962. After strenuous discussions, the pieces were entrusted to the city, which did not yet have a Jeanne d'Arc monument.
