AL CASTELLO
Read moreA sunny terrace at the foot of the castle, an inviting setting for mouth-watering cuisine - that's what awaits you once you've climbed to the top of Castello! Lobster from the Gulf of Asinara cooked Catalan-style, smoked langoustines with basil sauce, fish antipasti based on the catch of the day, orange crème caramel, cannolo with ricotta - these are just some of the tempting proposals concocted by the chef. We can't say it enough: this is our favorite address in Castelsardo, not just for the food, but also for the warm welcome and customer care. Bravo!
RISTORANTE DA VITO
Read moreWelcome to Vito's, the very family restaurant located at the entrance of Sennori. It is an institution, not to be missed. Vito welcomes you in his beautiful house with a large dining room opening onto the terrace. The view is exceptional: you can see the island of Asinara in front of you and the tip of Stintino. It serves traditional Sardinian and home-made cuisine. The menu is made according to the availability of the food: oysters, octopus, sardines, spaghetti with cockles, fresh vegetables... He's equally at home with seafood and mountain produce: the octopus is to die for, and the meats are perfectly cooked. We spent a wonderful evening in a truly atypical and enchanting place.
IL CORMORANO

The warm and discreet setting accompanies a harmoniously presented cuisine d'auteur. The chef Diana Serra finds her inspiration in the local products with a strong orientation towards the sea which spreads out before your eyes. Her speciality is fried tuna with poppy seeds and courgettes, black olives and tomatoes. The service is rather slow, but the cooking is worth it. Alas, the prices are not too high.
TRATTORIA LE 2 LANTERNE
Read moreA pretty terrace and a room with a Sardinian decor and warm colours make you want to go through the door of this trattoria right away. The restaurant Le 2 Lanterne offers all the best specialities of the region, perfectly cooked. In particular, you will find the snails that the inhabitants of Sassari love, a food tradition that dates back to the Romans, it seems. The à la carte menu is complete and the menus are very interesting. The ravioli alla Gallurese and the fregolas con arselle are the specialities of the house not to be missed.
LA LEPANTO
Read moreOpposite the Sulis Tower, just at the entrance to the old town, you can see the sea from the long bay window of this restaurant. This is where the inhabitants of Alghero come when a craving for lobster seizes them. This is the speciality of the establishment and you can see them splashing around in the aquarium at the entrance. The menu, which is entirely sea-facing, offers the great classics: grilled or fried fish, pasta with bottarga, etc. The setting has the look of a chic brasserie with its whitewashed stone walls, vaults and verandah.
FAINÉ SASSU
Read moreHere, only one option, the lazy (pronounced fa-i-né)! The various toppings will inevitably make you find something to your taste. This Sassari speciality is close to the socca niçoise and is only eaten during the winter season according to purists. It was formerly served in the streets of the city, where the lazy man pushed his cart equipped with a brazier. The carts have disappeared and you now have to sit down at the Fainé Sassu to crunch this delicious cake of chickpea flour, served hot.
AL TUGURI
Read moreAl Tuguri is not only among the good tables of Alghero, it is probably one of the best tables in Sardinia. The chef, Benito Carbonella, a native of Nuoro, offers refined and original Catalan cuisine, combining spices, perfumes, aromatic herbs and seafood. The establishment, opened in 1973, consists of two small rooms with a rustic and intimate decor. We recommend the seafood tasting menu, a real marvel. The prices are not excessive for a restaurant of this kind.
ROCCA 'JA

Of course, there are also the pizzas that tourists like so much and that allow you to keep your budget. Of course the prices are quite high, but the panoramic table will make you forget them.

The real plus of this little star is its upstairs terrace. This is a good address!
L'ASSASSINO
Read moreThis is THE restaurant for traditional Sardinian cuisine: we couldn't pass up this city institution. It's fresh, it's hearty, it's full of sauce and, above all, it's very good! We come here to eat lumachelles (snails), porchetto (suckling pig), rosemary potatoes, and all that is traditional and enchanting about Sardinia. The service is efficient, the staff are really friendly and the terrace in the garden is a real treat. No cheating, this is authentic.
OSTERIA MACCHIAVELLO
Read moreAmong all the restaurants that have a terrace on the ramparts facing the setting sun, we had a crush on Il Macchiavello. The reception is irreproachable, it is the great Italian class, the interior room is superb, and as for the terrace, one cannot make more romantic when the light goes down and the last rays of sun illuminate the ramparts. Alghero is a Catalan land, so we recommend you to taste the paella. Lovers of pasta, you will not be disappointed either. In short, we enjoyed ourselves!
TRATTORIA CARAGOL
Read moreHere's a nice little address just the way we like it! In this quiet alley, a couple passionate about good things has settled down. In their typical vaulted stone trattoria and in a long room, they offer fresh, homemade pasta. You will also find a land and sea menu on which you can select fresh fish as well as one of their specialities based on lamb or wild boar. This charming and greedy trattoria, for once, has no terrace.
