The vineyards are located in Santa Maria La Palma, in the plain of Nurra, a few kilometers from the Gulf of Alghero. The wines are declined in the 3 colors and in grappa. The detailed visits, by appointment, are not free of charge but they are worth the detour: you follow the path that leads from the wine to the bottle to finish with a tasting accompanied by typical dishes.

When we came back from a swim in the Pelosa, we had a mega snack and enjoyed all the pastries. We loved the copuletta (a sponge cake with lemon), the ricotelle (with ricotta) or the amaretto (macaroon). The Demelas family also makes its own fresh pasta, including the famous malloreddus and culurginones. The welcome is warm.

The Sassari market, a high point of city life, has taken over Piazza Mercato where in the 17th century the slaughterhouses were located. Modern and functional, the new building covers more than 2,000square metres; the food products arrive fresh from the countryside and the surrounding coasts. Not to be missed for a good glimpse of a colourful Sardinia.
