PIZZERIA SAN GAVINO
Read moreThis is THE restaurant in Porto Torres, the one everyone in town knows and has tried at least once. Set back from the street, well hidden behind a hedge of trees, it's located just opposite the San Gavino basilica. On the menu, good pizzas in a friendly, chic atmosphere, with pretty white tablecloths covering the tables. The seafood pizza topped with mussels and the Neapolitan pizza are a treat. This is authentic, popular and fresh seafood cuisine: it's worth the detour and the prices are low.
RISTORANTE LIBERTY
Read moreLet's get the suspense out of the way right away: Gianluca is a couturier of taste buds, and an evening at Liberty is a fabulous gastronomic voyage. He's equally at home with seafood and mountain produce: the octopus is to die for, and the meats are perfectly cooked. The finesse of the dishes reflects the setting - Liberty means Art Nouveau - and the staff. The wines are delicious, and you'll be advised by a real sommelier. Everything is beautiful and elegant! We spent a wonderful evening in a truly atypical and enchanting place.
IL CORMORANO
Read moreThis restaurant at the foot of the citadel has a beautiful shaded terrace and a quiet atmosphere quite engaging. The warm and discreet setting accompanies a harmoniously presented cuisine d'auteur. The chef Diana Serra finds her inspiration in the local products with a strong orientation towards the sea which spreads out before your eyes. Her speciality is fried tuna with poppy seeds and courgettes, black olives and tomatoes. The service is rather slow, but the cooking is worth it. Alas, the prices are not too high.
L’ANTICA HOSTARIA
Read moreThis upscale restaurant located in the city centre hides behind an ochre facade and somewhat faded green shutters. In a studied décor, with organza curtains and fleece chairs, it serves a kitchen full of finesse. Its specialty: Sicilian street food. On the menu you can find involtini di carne, meat rolls covered with sauce, arancina siciliana, rice balls, or the famous and delicious pasta alla Norma, pasta prepared with aubergines, tomato and ricotta.
AL TUGURI
Read moreAl Tuguri is not only among the good tables of Alghero, it is probably one of the best tables in Sardinia. The chef, Benito Carbonella, a native of Nuoro, offers refined and original Catalan cuisine, combining spices, perfumes, aromatic herbs and seafood. The establishment, opened in 1973, consists of two small rooms with a rustic and intimate decor. We recommend the seafood tasting menu, a real marvel. The prices are not excessive for a restaurant of this kind.
ROCCA 'JA
Read moreRocca 'Ja is located a few steps from Castelsardo and offers a breathtaking view of the town and the Asinara bay. The cuisine is based on the Sardinian repertoire. Of course, there are also the pizzas that tourists like so much and that allow you to keep your budget. But it would be a shame to miss out on the chef's beautiful specialities: tuna marinated in moscato, sardines marinated in myrtle, gattuccio in agliatail or the famous risotto del timoniere... Of course the prices are quite high, but the panoramic table will make you forget them.
LA BOTTEGHINA
Read moreA small room with a refined decoration is hidden in an alleyway in the old town. The owner promises a real cuisine made with fresh ingredients and small local production. The delicatessen or cheese tasting platters are very popular with the regulars and accompany a glass of wine at aperitif time. In the evening, generous 50 cm pizzas come out of the oven over a wood fire. The menu changes regularly and the suggestions of the day are posted on the slate. The real plus of this little star is its upstairs terrace. This is a good address!
OSTERIA MACCHIAVELLO
Read moreAmong all the restaurants that have a terrace on the ramparts facing the setting sun, we had a crush on Il Macchiavello. The reception is irreproachable, it is the great Italian class, the interior room is superb, and as for the terrace, one cannot make more romantic when the light goes down and the last rays of sun illuminate the ramparts. Alghero is a Catalan land, so we recommend you to taste the paella. Lovers of pasta, you will not be disappointed either. In short, we enjoyed ourselves!
LA CALANCA
Read moreLa Calanca is a good place to try the local specialities cooked according to the seasons and at low prices. The cuisine is simple and appetizing, marine and summery. The menu offers good grilled fish, tasty ravioli, pasta with poutargue, Sardinian desserts... The restaurant has been recently renovated and offers a very pleasant setting, both indoors and on the terraces. And for the terraces, you have a wide choice! Either the one on the other side of the street with only a few tables or the one upstairs, covered.

IL CORALLO
Read moreThis good address in Alghero is a little bit away from the centre and its animation. Here, there are no pizzas, but dishes turned towards the sea, worked with carefully selected and fresh products. The impeccable presentation of the plates and the sober setting set the tone: you are in a gastronomic bistro. The plates reveal an original bresaola of tuna bresaola with fennel, orange and liquorice or a delicate peach return with artichoke carpaccio and almonds. Don't miss the tiramisu for dessert, one of the chef's specialities.

The fish from the day's catch wait on a bed of ice on the side table, the meats are seared at the right time and the primi piatti, or pasta, are served in several ways: with cuttlefish ink, clams, stuffed ravioli... The very cordial atmosphere and the pleasant service make it a good address to share.
MUSCIARRA
Read moreLa Musciarra may not offer the best value for money in the city, but the address is very pleasant. Located right next to La Calanca, at the end of the port of Stintino, the few tables on its terrace give directly onto it. One stops here to drink an espresso or a macchiato during the day, a cocktail or a glass of wine at aperitif time. The establishment makes coffee, bar and also proposes a simple and light restoration. The menu offers antipasti, pasta and some grilled meat or fish dishes.
