The monument will be remodelled throughout its history. Inside, there is a superb fresco, The Last Judgement, by the Montenegrin artist Miodrag Djurić, also known as Dado.
ST. NICHOLAS CHURCH
Read moreOf the five churches that Beaumont-le-Roger had in the Middle Ages, only Saint-Nicolas remains. Since its fire in the 15th century, it has been rebuilt several times, until it was partially destroyed during the Second World War and finally restored in 1951. Its architecture is essentially Renaissance in style and it still has beautiful 16th century stained glass windows that coexist with modern Max Ingrand's stained glass windows, and wooden and stone statues from the 15th and 16th centuries. Also note its bell tower in which is nestled a very beautiful automaton, the "Regulus", which represents a Roman general, symbol of the given word.
