HOLY CROSS CHURCH

On the heights of the village, in the heart of the pretty Mont-Mirel district, Cormeilles church, built in the ^11th century, has a unique feature in Normandy: its floor follows the slope of the land (at 9%, after all!). As a result, the choir is higher than the portal! A truly striking effect: the high altar is at the same level as the organ loft! From the church, you can take the Mont du Bourg walk, with its century-old chestnut trees, at the end of which you’ll discover a superb panorama of the Pays d’Auge and the Calonne valley.
